Hubbard Merrell was started by Bob Hubbard and Dave Merrell in 2012. Bob and Dave started working together at TOR Engineering in Phoenix, AZ in 1999. After 13 years of success in developing and managing the structural engineering department at TOR, they decided to partner together to further develop the structural department and create Hubbard Merrell Engineering (HM) in Flagstaff, AZ.

Hubbard Merrell Engineering started working on Aerial Adventure Courses in 2010. After 5 years offering structural engineering services to manufacturers and installers, in 2015, Hubbard Merrell Engineering further developed out Adventure Course Department with the addition of a subject matter expert as our department leader.
Aerial Adventure Courses, sometimes known as "Challenge Courses" or "Ropes Courses, " include elevated structures where harnessed patrons climb and traverse obstacles including bridges, nets, and zip line activities. Aerial Adventure Courses can be guided, self-guided or facilitated experiences, but all include trained staff supervision and safety training.
