Kimberly F. Dunham is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame. She received her Juris Doctorate from Emory University in Atlanta. Mrs. Dunham moved to Greenville, South Carolina following graduation and was an Associate with the law firm of Thompson and Hutson. In 1996 she opened her own law firm which is devoted exclusively to helping clients with Family Law issues including Divorce, Child Custody and Visitation, and Alimony.
Family law cases are often some of the most emotionally charged and painful legal disputes. In addition, the complexities of family law in South Carolina can often be overwhelming. Whether facing divorce, seeking child custody, or contesting alimony, people without professional counsel can unknowingly jeopardize their case and undergo a drawn-out and costly litigation nightmare.
Divorce is often a stressful and emotional process that can be compounded by a number of difficult decisions. Depending on your unique circumstances, you may not be sure which legal ground applies to your case, or you and your spouse may disagree. An experienced attorney can examine the specific details of your case and help you build a defense to move the process forward as painlessly and quickly as possible.
Child custody and visitation are often some of the hardest issues to resolve in a divorce. But custody disputes are not always connected to divorce. Sometimes disputes arise between unmarried parents or concern the visitation rights of grandparents. If the parents are unmarried, South Carolina law will typically grant custody to the mother unless she gives up the child.
The term "alimony" refers to any kind of financial support that a former spouse gives the other. Lump Sum: If a court decides that one spouse owes the other a certain sum, a lump sum payment is when that spouse takes care of the support obligation with a single check. Periodic Sum: In this situation, a court could decide that one spouse pays a set amount each month until a certain time, such as the other spouse's death or remarriage.

Ms Dunham is very knowledgeable and really listened to me when I went for my initial consultation. And her paralegal, Anna, is very helpful as well.
Update. I couldn't be more satisfied with the expertise that Kim and her paralegal showed during my intial spousal support hearing. They both were very helpful and supportive. I can't thank them enough
Newest update. Kim and her staff continue to go above and beyond to help finalize my divorce. I highly recommend her as an attorney

My husband hired Kimberly to help get visitation with his infant son. Kimberly & Anna make a perfect duo! Anna listened to all of our concerns & was always there for every situation with a solution. Kimberly knows her stuff! She thinks like the judge. Which means she may not tell you what you want to hear & you may not want to really do what she says but if you do, she will get you the planned outcome! In mediations & court she never backed down from what my husband wanted with his son. He walked out of his first mediation with a fair visitation schedule & due to issues with the mother, they ended

Kimberly Dunham is a FANTASTIC attorney! I got exactly what I paid for. She had a great strategy right from the start, and kept me up to date every step of the way. I wound up not having to spend a second in court, and still came out on top in my case. If you're in need of a good family attorney, I highly recommend Kimberly and her staff. A great group of Ladies, who do exactly what you pay them to do.

Kimberly represented me during my divorce for over 2 years! She was competent, available by phone within 24 hours, or if not, would always ensure return notification, and prepared for every step required in the process. All of which is extremely important when choosing a lawyer. She was able to navigate the legal system with positive relationships and ultimately make a success out of one of the worst times of my life. Not only was she my lawyer, I felt important to her on a personal level as she became invested in the outcome of my case. Don't get me wrong, she was able to keep a professional distance

I don’t know how I would have gotten through my divorce without the help of Kimberly Dunham. She is compassionate, intelligent, and professional every step of the way through the divorce process. Her decades of experience are obvious with every statement she makes. I have recommended her to everyone I know who is in need of a reliable attorney. Her initial consultation fee is extremely reasonable and definitely worth your time.

Kimberly recently represented me in a difficult and contentious divorce and she did a fantastic job. She was in my corner every step of the way and offered me excellent advice and support. She made sure I was fully informed about the process and throughout the process and made sure I was protected. She was the ultimate professional from start to finish - though as nails when she needed to be and always kind and compassionate with me. She patiently answered all of my questions (and I had a lot). Kimberly's sole focus has always been family law and she knows the law in SC inside and out. Her paralegal

WOW! My daughter's ex-husband has a continuous, never ending desire to be in court against my daughter. The last of which was a high conflict custody battle. Kim is tenacious and went to battle for my daughter and grandchildren. She went way beyond what most attorneys would do in preparation, investigating facts, guiding, and offering calm during the high stress. Kim is highly ethical which gave us confidence.
I can't say enough about Kim's skill in her profession, compassion for her client and their family, and her commitment to make the right thing happen, regardless to what it takes.

Kim Dunham and her staff are fabulous. They went above and beyond for me in my case. There isn't another attorney in Greenville that could have done more for me than she did. She and her staff are truly passionate about what they do and are very committed. I had a tough almost 2 year long case and she was with me every step of the way. She was very obviously the better, more ethical, and more prepared attorney in court that day. I would highly recommend her!
