Studies show reishi mushrooms ( Ling Zhi) benefit people stricken with a variety of ailments, from high blood pressure to AIDS Traditional Eastern medical science explains reishi's wide range of medicinal applications better, perhaps, than mainstream medicine ever could. According to Eastern thought, the body needs to defend itself against threats to its "equilibrium."
Yunnan Baiyao () also known as Yunnan Paiyao has been extensively used and considered a sort of miracle drug for wounds, pain, and hemorrhage. Unlike Western pain drugs, it does not turn off pain centers in the brain, but instead facilitates circulation, bringing oxygen to the injury. It is useful for any type of open cuts and any kind of surgery.

This place is wonderful and the owner and employees are very helpful. They have a large selection of Chinese raw herbs and bulk herbs as well as herbs in various pill form, patches and creams. There’s a few needles and cups for sale if you need supplies on the fly. There is frequently an herbalist doctor there. They take appointments and even take walk-ins. Sometimes there’s a language barrier but the owner speaks English well and acts as a translator. There’s no acupuncture available though and the doctors hours are limited, so call first. Wing Ming is definitely my favorite Chinese Medicine

I've been coming in more recently because I do most of the shopping for my parents now. At the beginning of the pandemic, they didn't allow customers inside, but that's changed and I'm able to browse now. I kinda miss giving them my shopping list and having it brought out super quickly. But they're still very friendly and helpful when I can't find something.
I haven't come for an herbal consultation in years, so I can't comment on that, but Wing Ming definitely has the best selection of Chinese herbs in Portland. Honestly a one-stop shop when I'm looking

I never knew this was here until the owner of Clary Sage Herbs didn't have what I needed and suggested that I look for it at Wing Ming. It wasn't her fault, I was asking for dried chestnut flowers, and that's obscure no matter who you ask.
Wing Ming's doesn't have the dried chestnut flowers either, but they did have steamed chestnuts in a snack package! The owner was very nice. The ability to speak Chinese would be useful, but I managed since they speak some English.
That will speed up getting my chestnut soup recipe done, because now all I have to do is wait until I can collect the flowers,

So good to see what Wing Ming has done to add protective lucite screens to be Covid compliant.
Lots more herbs pre-packaged, and available staff to listen to your needs so that they can recommend items for you.
The herbalist Dr. Peizhong Mao is here 3 days a week including Tuesdays, by appointment.
He has opened a private practice in Lake Oswego.
Dr. Peizhong Mao's business cards are available upon request at Wing Ming.
I highly recommend Dr. Peizhong Mao, since he previously worked at OHSU.

I went to see a chinese medicine doctor here. To get some herbs for the many medical problems I have going on. I really liked Dr Mao and trust that he is good as I have a friend who has been helped by him. The store is packed with teas, herbs in different forms, dishes and cookware, food items, supplements just to many things to name. I have gone to Wing Mins for many years off and on and will continue to go as they are very reputable. The staff are knowledgeable and very friendly. Thank you Wing Ming's for being there for the community.

I love this place!! The women here are always busy but they kindly help me find the list of pills I need. There are always people inside the store looking at things, asking questions, or waiting for their order to get pulled together. It is a welcoming environment where I see a lot of customers smiling.

They had closed early because of covid hours and I didn't know this when I called. They asked if I was outside. When I told them I was they came out to look at my prescription from herbalist doctor and they were so sweet. They said they would do it up for me to save me a trip. Little did they know I was all the way from La Center Washington!! Hoping these herbs get me on the right track to feeling better. Thank you!

I have searched all over Portland for a certain kind of pill so that I wouldn't have to order it off the internet and this place had it. Saved me from having to wait 2-3 days for a shipment from San Francisco. I have never seen so many Chinese pill selections in one place.
Looking for herbs or Chinese medicine this must be your first stop.

I have been a patient and a client since the 90's. They used to operate their business on 84th and Foster. I am a true believer in herbal treatment. For a small fee I got to talk to the herbalist to understand my illness, and afterward the herbalist prescribed me a remedy. I usually get my herbal supplies at the same time. Although the medicine required some slow cooking and they could be extreme bitter and hard to drink to most people, I myself find comfort in knowing that I am in good care. They also sell vitamins, beauty products and general health products.

The scent of this place warms my heart- there is nothing like an apothecary for me! As an acupuncturist I love this place!! If I weren't (I'm not sure how), but I would love them more. The staff knows their herb stock and is super friendly and helpful with choosing what is needed. For most Americans who do not know wind heat from wind cold choosing herbs can be so tricky, but these guys have you covered!! Thank you!

This is a small, but stuffed Chinese shop that we go to for herbs we use on a "grumpy" dog.
Many many years ago, I Vet we went to had gotten into Chinese medicine after he had a stroke. Western medicine didn't do enough for him, so as an Doctor of medicine himself, he studied Chinese medicine to help himself.
He used what he had learned and started offering it to dogs. Our dog was one of his first.
We took a few dogs to this Vet for general care, and when it might help, Chinese herbs.
I had the foresight once to have him write down the recipe to the Chinese herbal mix that we had

Ah yes, all kinds of roots and herbs ...
If you're Chinese or your mom, dad, in-laws, or aunt is Chinese in Portland, Wing Ming Herbs rings of comfort food, herbs, snacks, medicines, and more. It's a dingy and dinky store (with matching small parking lot), but I'm glad Wing Ming is here to fill a large void in our lives for traditional Chinese items.
Wing Ming is also a good place to get a phone card for calling back to China or Taiwan. If you speak Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese), you'll probably get a little better deal, too. So, invite your mom, dad, in-laws, or aunt to

My mom bought some herbs here that I didn't asked for. I only wanted some San She Dan Chuan Bei Ye for my toddler because he was coughing his lungs out and FDA pulled all the children cough medication due to misuse. At times like this, I'm glad I'm a little fob. Little guy's cough has improved a lot.
Anyway, back to Wing Ming. The lady was very nice and helpful. I didn't expect her to accept the returns since I've never had any luck with returning or exchanging stuff at an Asian store, but she took them back and let me exchange them for more SSDCBY. She gave me the

I drove basically all the way across town to visit this shop, because my acupuncturist has run out of a particular Chinese herb that I use, and told me that I could get it where she gets it.
This place is right on 82nd, and there's a decent amount of parking, but good luck figuring out what door to use enter the shop. The street-facing side of the bldg looks like a Chinese herb shop, the parking lot side looks like a standard mini-mart/bodega. Enter on the parking lot side.
Anyway, once I was inside, I was served promptly, but if I hadn't had a photo of the label for the herb I was
