Our philosophy is that every person has incredible potential, and with that, the capacity to change. At Counseling of Southwest Florida (CSWFL), we create a safe space and provide the guidance and support necessary to not only overcome addiction, but to harness that incredible potential. This allows our clients to reclaim success and effectiveness in many areas of their lives that have been diminished by their drug and alcohol use.
Casey Portner LMHC, CAP is the owner and director of all treatment services at CSWFL and the Cypress West Intensive Outpatient treatment program. Casey is a Certified Addictions Professional who received his bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida and his master's degree in Counselor Education from Florida Atlantic University.
What sets our counseling program apart from other therapy centers is the consistent adherence to a comprehensive clinical model and curriculum. The clinical model has been developed by the founder, Casey Portner LMHC, CAP, of Counseling of Southwest Florida. He has over 13 years of clinical experience in helping patients successfully overcome substance abuse and co-occurring disorders.
Our therapy programs allow our clients to receive a comprehensive and effective counseling experience while continuing to live at homes and within their own communities. In our humble opinion, many therapy centers have shown poor results in effectively treating addiction in recent years. At our Southwest Florida counseling center, we have developed a clinical model that perfectly complements the therapy framework.

Absolutely, the best counseling group out there! The entire team; receptionist, billing department, and the counselors are professional and very caring.

I was unfortunately referred to this counseling facility, asked to do a Batters Intervention Assessment! I was never called once by anyone just sent a text to come to orientation on a certain day unfortunately I had classes scheduled for that day. I feel for any business for a new client you should CALL a new client at least to explain that the Assessment revealed that classes would be beneficial and then schedule an orientation. When I spoke to the receptionist she said "she couldn't possibly call everyone about appointments"... I had to remind her that I'm NEW to this Program, I Pray it won't
