It all started in 1962 when Janet and Leonard Bruso Jr. opened the doors to Bay State Fuel Oil, Inc. Back then it was a small operation running out of their home office delivering quality home heating oil to their friends and neighbors throughout Western Massachusetts. In 1965, however, their small home office was moved and expanded, now providing heating service as well as oil delivery.
This dynamic duo had made such an impact on their customers that Leonard Jr. created and presided over the Western Massachusetts Fuel Dealers Association, heading the group for five years. In 1985, Bay State expanded again. This time they purchased Ortolani Oil which doubled the size of their business.

Great company! Great timely service and they're right there in an emergency. The only weird thing is that when you call them, the person taking the call does not give you their name?? I was in customer service for a Fortune 500 company for 15 years and that was always a cardinal sin to not greet the caller with your name. Hello, this is Joe, how may I help you? It's that easy.
