Knight & Moskow P C
Serving the legal needs of the families in Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia Counties. We are proud of the services we provide to our clients. Unlike other areas of law, where the adversarial parties go their separate ways at the conclusion of the proceedings, the parties to a Family Law dispute often have children, siblings, and/or other family relationships in common, or have forged bonds with their respective extended families.

Because of these connections, and the emotional and financial costs associated with litigation, we believe it is necessary to work very hard toward settlement, and will not advise litigation unless all other options have been exhausted. We have the experience needed to help both parties come to an amicable divorce resolution.
Services
The law firm of Knight & Moskow, P.C. is dedicated to the practice of those areas of law related to family matters: Divorce, Child Custody and Support, Preparation of Pre- and Post-Nuptial Agreements, Adoptions, Adult and Minor Guardianships, Estate Planning (Wills and Trusts), and Probate of Decedent's Estates.
A "fault" divorce requires the innocent spouse to prove at least one of six "fault" scenarios in order to establish grounds for the divorce proceedings to go forward. Spouses seeking a "no-fault" divorce must wait two years from the date of separation, or obtain the consent of the other spouse to proceed prior to the two-year waiting period.
In our society adoption has become an accepted way to build a family or to legally confirm already existing family relationships. In Pennsylvania any individual may be adopted, regardless of age or residence, and any adult individual may become an adopting parent. Before a minor child may be adopted, the rights of their biological parents must be terminated.
Wills and Trusts - Every person, especially those with children, should execute an Estate Plan to provide for those left behind. Nomination of guardians of minor children and the establishment of trusts to provide financial stability for minor children and widowed spouses is of paramount importance.
Collaborative law, an integrated, multi-disciplinary approach to resolving issues involved in divorce, is yet another option open to couples who agree that a divorce is necessary, but are committed to an amicable resolution of the issues involved. In the Collaborative approach, the parties sign a contract agreeing not to take the matter to court, but rather to make a good faith attempt to reach an agreement on all issues.
