Mike Johnson began his canvas training over 30 years ago in 1976 as a U.S. Marine Corps parachute inspector and rigger at NAS Cherry Point, NC. While serving there, Mike learned attention to detail and dedication to perfection in the life or death environment of aviation safety.
After his enlistment Mike moved his family to Ft. Collins, Colorado and expanded his canvas skills at the award winning company, Peterson Canvas, where he worked as shop foreman managing production and design.They became the first shop to introduce backlit awnings into the canvas awning & sign industry.

Dan, Mike and their crew are ‘one in a million’, maybe ‘one in ten million’? I was trying to help my daughter who lives in Charlottesville, VA with a problem on her recently purchased boat. She needed her snap on windows repaired, no rebuilt! Mike’s was referred to me by Joe’s Upholstery, as the BEST. I met with Ben - he gave me a price, but told me they were booked out for two months. I gave him the old windows, wondering if I would ever see them again. I did two courtesy follow ups just to insure they didn’t forget my daughter’s dilemma. To my surprise, almost to the day, they

This place is the best you can find! Three years ago they enclosed my entire center console Cape Horn 21. They had to customize the entire project, which they did with very impressive precision. Excellent craftsmanship, incredibly strong construction, beautiful to look at, numerous configuration options and operationally sound. Winter and any bad weather just isn't an issue anymore (we can heat the various cabin options and is fully screened in the warmer seasons). And yes, we have a double bed sleeper in the forward section that stays bone dry in driving rain - it's incredible! It was pricy but
