In 1925, Vic Bockrath Sr. entered the flooring business, quickly becoming the flooring manager for Rike Kumler Co. by the time he was 21 years old. He began specializing in the field, installing linoleum and carpet and repairing oriental rugs. In 1955, he started his own company, averaging 10 to 15 repairs a week.
He taught his sons Vic Jr. and Ed the skills of the trade. Vic and Ed started selling and installing from their home in 1959, and by 1970, Vic Jr. and Ed opened their first storefront at 1924 Brown Street next to the Pine Club. Known for high-quality carpet and superior workmanship, the business grew, expanding to its present day location on Far Hills Ave.

We are thrilled with Bockrath. They carpeted several rooms in our home years ago and did excellent work, so of course we called them again when it was time to get new carpeting. Rob and Eric came this week and did an exceptional job installing our beautiful new carpet. You can tell these guys are pros. They installed the carpet perfectly, and they were so nice and personable. We are so appreciative to Bockrath for providing the best quality of product and service.

I have shopped and made numerous purchases at Bockrath flooring since 1995. Many homes we have owned and occupied were all done by Bockrath. I also purchased a large aerial rug from them. I can not speak high enough about the business. Always a well done job and very professionally done. I have always lived at least one hour from the store but still made that drive when it was time for carpet. One of a kind for selection and unique flooring. Well worth the trip to Dayton to shop for high quality flooring..

Lisa at Bockrath was wonderful to work with!! I have an unusually long dining room and I don’t love oriental rugs for the style of room. So.... I ended up purchasing two large and beautiful rugs there and then had Bockrath create one rug from the two. It is beautiful!!! They did a great job! From design, to creation, to delivery.... they are professional all the way and always do great work! Thank you!
