We refinish antiques and other wood furniture with a top of the line, commercial grade post-cat lacquer finish. We offer custom built, solid wood furniture. In the tradition of old world artistry, we hand pick every piece of wood, cut, plane, and construct with the utmost care.

Services
Hudson Woodworking is a family owned and operated furniture restoration and custom furniture shop run by husband and wife team, Joe and Rebekka Hudson, that serves Northern Virginia and the VA/WV Shenandoah Valley. Joe is a 4th generation master woodworker and refinisher originally from NEPA. Rebekka grew up in NOVA with a background in art and design, and elementary special education.
We use a post-cat lacquer, which is the highest quality finish commercially available. This means we mix and add the catalyst to the finish ourselves, which makes it a lot more durable and water resistant. We can also adjust for different conditions. Most furniture manufacturers use a pre-cat lacquer which is mixed at the finish manufacturing plant.
After an extensive search last fall, we chose Hudson Woodworking & Restoration to restore four pieces: a Stickley dining room table, a beloved rocking chair, an antique secretary, and an antique dresser. We knew right from the start that the care we took to find the right company had been worthwhile.

We are excited to offer custom services for that one of a kind personalized gift for weddings, birthdays, retirement, etc!. Our flags and plaques can have names, dates, or other sentiments carved or inlayed into the wood.
