In 2003, Steve retired from the United States Army as a Major after serving more than twenty-two years. During that time, he completed tours in Germany, Greece, Uzbekistan, and Afghanistan. While spending five years stationed in Germany along the Rhine and Mosel Rivers, Steve became passionate about Riesling.

After the family moved to the beautiful 1000 Islands Region of New York, Steve became inspired by the mighty Saint Lawrence River and the grand castles that are located on the islands. He noticed many similarities between the two distant locations. Both areas feature scenic beauty, gorgeous stone castles, large tour boats, and many visiting international tourists.

The grapes here are very good, but the sour ones do wine sometimes. It rained here when I visited; but like they say, everything happens for a raisin, and a nice sunset happened after. There was a band and the wedding here, and they must have stepped on some of the grapes because they really knew how to jam.

The team at Thousand Islands Winery are a lot of fun and they want you to enjoy your time at their winery.
Lots of options from dry to sweet (whites and reds). They had a few wine slushy options too! Beer tastings available (handful in a flight). Wish there were more dry options, but even the semi dry wines were pretty good! 4 different bottle size options with whites in a cooler case, so already chilled.
The location is close to the bridge to Welsley Island. It's a large red building. They do have events from time to time. There are some statues and a large sine bottle to take pictures with

When I got there, there was a wedding and a lot of people wine tasting and some were beer tasting. They have 2 separate areas for wine and beer tasting. The wine was well organized and some come in 4 different sizes. I like the small size since I don't drink much and always pouring 1/2 bottle down the drain. Very wasteful. I went to get the wine jelly and dessert wine. Because they were so busy and I only saw 2 people working, I didn't have a chance to try any of their wine. I took my chances and bought 2 small bottles of sweet wine based on their description, several jars of wine jelly and a couple

Great atmosphere and there is both beer and wine tasting available. My preference is the Alexandria Bay Rose, a New York rose wine. Free souvenir wine glass with 10 wine samples was just $5.00.
