Our goal here at Pediatric Dentistry of Suffolk and Nassau County is to mold children's behavior and change attitudes towards healthy, preventative care. We pride ourselves on seeing nervous, fearful children come into our office and leave transformed with a big happy smile. Establish your child's dental home with highly trained child friendly staff!
Our office, as well as the The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) all recommend establishing a "Dental Home" for your child by one year of age.

Services
Dr. Michael Ioannou is a native of Suffolk County. He received his bachelor's degree with honors at Stony Brook University and his Dental degree at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Mike then completed his residency in Pediatric Dentistry at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center.
Our office, as well as the The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) all recommend establishing a "Dental Home" for your child by one year of age. Children who have a dental home are more likely to receive appropriate preventive and routine oral health care.
The pediatric dentist has an extra two to three years of specialized training after dental school, and is dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through the teenage years. The very young, pre-teens, and teenagers all need different approaches in dealing with their behavior, guiding their dental growth and development, and helping them avoid future dental problems.
The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) recommends an orthodontic screening for children by the age of 7 years. At age 7 the teeth and jaws are developed enough so that the dentist or orthodontist can see if there will be any serious bite problems in the future. Most of the time treatment is not necessary at age 7, but it gives the parents and dentist time to watch the development of the patient and decide on the best mode of treatment.
The office attempts to schedule appointments at your convenience and when time is available. Preschool children should be seen in the morning because they are fresher and we can work more slowly with them for their comfort. School children with a lot of work to be done should be seen in the morning for the same reason.

I've been taking my child here for 3yrs and i use to love it, the staff made my child feel very safe and welcomed. Until i had a appointment with Dr. Michael Park and the assistant dental hygienist.. which i don't remember her name. She was rude and asking me personal question about my life that had nothing to do with the appointment. On top of that Dr. Michael park..walked in with such a bad aura. He's Rude, obnoxious, and very unprofessional. He spoke down to me like if i didn't understand english. He shouldn't work around children. I will not have my child around someone like him.

Dr. Cooper is an amazing dentist. She is a very patient person and takes the time to explain everything that is going to happen to my children. I never feel rushed when I am there. Her assistant is excellent and all of the staff are very kind. Best dentist I have ever taken my children to see. Thanks Dr. Cooper !!!! - Jason G.

My son had his first ever dentist appointment today. He is a good kid but stubborn when going near his mouth. I was pleasantly surprised because he allowed the dental hygienist to check and clean his teeth. She was also very good with him she sing to him as she cleaned and he did great. I believe her name is Maria. The dentist that came in after the hygienist was great too but my son was over it by then. She was great tho. Nice place and very clean.

Clean, modern facility. Friendly staff. Reminders always sent prior to appointment. I find the dentists and hygienists to be second to none that I’ve seen. I wish they treated adults. These are my honest opinions based on my experiences at this facility and their other location in Suffolk for the past 10(?) years.

Dr. Cooper is the absolute best dentist! Her professionalism, knowledge in the field and patient care is renowned!!! She is the only person I would and will have work on my kids teeth. Honestly, I wish I could have her do my teeth because she is without a doubt the best I have come across. She will do anything to see her patients calm and comfortable. Traveled 3 hours just to see Dr. Cooper!

I had such a wonderful experience here. My two year old had his first dentist visit here and the staff was just so friendly, kind, patient and just overall super cool. It was clean and uniquely decorated. My son gave a thumbs up when he was asked how his experience was, safe to say we found a great place for my child to help with all his dental needs.
