At least 60% of kindergartners suffer from tooth decay, the number one childhood disease. Even with daily brushing and flossing, plaque can still develop, particularly in areas that are difficult to reach. Only professional cleanings can remove the plaque and tartar that cause tooth decay and gum disease.
Baby (primary) teeth are placeholders for the adult teeth, ensuring the adult teeth fit and grow in where they belong. When a primary tooth is decayed or damaged, it may be necessary to put a dental crown on the tooth to keep it in place until the adult tooth comes through. The back teeth need extra protection from chewing.
Leaving issues untreated or delaying treatment can contribute to poor oral health and other serious health issues. The sooner you seek evaluation at our office, the better the chance of avoiding more extensive dental treatments and the faster your child will be back to their smiling, happy, active self.

This office has been incredible for my kids! One of them is on the spectrum and is claustrophobic in doctors offices. They have been so patient with us, never making us feel like a burden. Also, every time I leave I feel like I have learned so much about my kids teeth. I feel way more equipped. Thank you!!

I took my two year old daughter there for her first dental appointment. I was greeted with a smile by friendly staff. It was very clean. I waited less than 5 minutes before getting called back. The dental hygienist was very sweet and made my daughter feel comfortable. Dr. Hallum came in right away, talked with my daughter and I, he explained what he was going to do, examined her teeth and gave her a little baggie of dental supplies and stickers. We scheduled another appointment and left. I would definitely recommend this place and will be returning.

Dr. Halum and his staff are so friendly and detailed. Everyone works so well with children. My daughter is 6 and she said she loves going to the dentist. Making a dentist appointment fun for kids makes for a happy parent. I would recommend anyone for their child to become a patient of Dr. Halum! Thank you SO much!!!

I made an appointment for 2 of my 4 girls after having a very hard year and a half with our regular dentist... The process was very easy, the paperwork was sent through a text and I was able to complete it all prior to the first appointment!!! I didn't feel judged at all, I felt very comfortable talking to the nurses and Doc Halum about my concerns without any judgment!!! We are excited to start this journey with them!!!

My two daughters had bad experiences at a previous dentist nearer to where we live. Dr. Halum came highly recommended to me from a old classmate, saying that the office was so friendly, very child oriented (as it should be given its a pediatric dentist) and has some of the latest technology to offer when it comes to taking care of cavities, instead of removing the tooth. We drove a hour from our home and it was so worth it! This office made my children feel so at ease. They allowed me in the room and kept my children in the same room instead of splitting them up! They were kind, gentle and understanding

My son dental visit was amazing for both of us! The staff was super nice and gave so much education on my son dental needs.. they didn't rush the visit and they took the time to calm my son after seeing he was scared.. I can appreciate Dr.Halum helping me, help my son.. the office was clean and I feel went beyond CDC guidelines with having you sanitize before leaving the office... I highly recommend

My son has been going to Dr. Hallum since he was 2 years old...he's now 10. The entire staff is friendly and efficient. I have never waited more than 15 minutes to get into the chair and have not waited in the chair for more than 15 minutes. The atmosphere is relaxing for kids and they accommodate toddlers to teenagers. I would definitely recommend them. I drive about 45 minutes to have my son seen by them. If the service is good and the people are remarkable it's worth the drive.

We had the same experience as Nikki S. This is what I wish I had known. Don't be fooled by the train, good bed side manner and cheery environment. My opinion is that they are an insurance churning office focused on $$$ where your child's cleaning will last 30 seconds. I placed a lot of trust in a "wait and see approach" and thought it was conservative in the right way at first. Boy was I wrong. It is up to the professionals to let the parents know when "wait and see" must stop or when temporary solutions must turn to permanent. I had one child with no major issues

I took my children here for over four years. During that time I was always told the teeth looked great. However, I was frustrated that the doctor spent literally a minute or two with each child. I wondered how much he really was even looking at their teeth. I recently switched dentists and found out my daughter has three cavities that should have been caught with routine dental visits. One of them I even brought to Dr.Halum's attention at a special visit months ago and was told it was nothing. Very disappointed that I wasted my time and money there for years!
