TAK Waterman was founded in 2016 by two New Jersey natives and is a locally owned and operated outdoor apparel line specializing in fishing, surfing, spear fishing and stand-up paddling gear for the everyday waterman. TAK Waterman is committed to providing sport-specific gear that is comfortable and affordable for every day, on and off the water.

Long Branch, New Jersey is where it all began, specifically Takanasee Beach / Lake affectionately known by locals as "TAK, " a rare spot in New Jersey where the small fresh water lake meets the ocean. Everyone has that special spot where they caught their first fish or their first wave. We wanted to pay tribute to the place that instilled our passion for the outdoors, and so TAK Waterman was born!

I had heard of this shop over the past few years. I found myself in the area and decided to stop in. They are fully stocked with everything the fisherman or surfer might need.

Went the shop today, sunglasses 🕶, went with Smith brand, the most comfortable sunglasses i have ever worn. This shop is the first bait & Tackle shop that smelled good. Good selection of rods, reels and tackle for beach and boat. This is a shop you have to visit.

Super cool tackle shop with plenty of fishing needs plus frozen bait. They have rods, reels, and fishing apparel. They also have lots of surfing gear if you need that as well.

Awesome shop now the shore. My husband has recently taken up shore fishing (I think that's what it's called). I stopped in to grab a Christmas gift and they were super helpful pulling together a nice gift.

Nick and Mike are great business owners. I have dealt with Nick plenty of times purchasing product from their store and he always puts me on what I need. Mike also truly cares about what you need and went above and beyond when I was purchasing a few tuna setups. He made sure I had all the information required to make the right decision when purchasing. Both Nick and Mike are very friendly up beat and professional! I highly recommend anyone who is looking for fish/surf/beach/clothing gear to go to them! Thanks again guys!

Mike and Nick are consummate gentlemen whose passion not only for the sport but for ensuring their customers are best equipped to be successful is unparalleled. Within an hour of leaving the shop, had the first bass on the new pole, braid and topwater setup Nick had styled me out with last fall. Placed an order the other day, Mike and Nick worked together to dial in the perfect spoon combo and had it all ready upon arrival. Thanks for taking care of me as always!

This is a nice shop. Nick helped my kids get a small surfing board or whatever it’s called. You can tell I’m no surfer dude.

Best store out there for all of you fishing and surf needs, we travel here all the way from Jackson, not only are the supplies on point but so is all of the valuable advice they have offered since we've began fishing. These guys are the real deal.
