Doron Ilai, Founder of austiNuts, Inc., grew up snacking on fresh roasted nuts, seed, and dried fruits along the sunny shores of the eastern Mediterranean. After earning a bachelor's degree in psychology and statistics from the University of Haifa, Doron pursued a doctoral degree in psychology at the University of Texas at Austin.
He snacked on nuts and dried fruits through rigorous hours of study but he was unable to find dry roasted nuts with the same fresh taste and crunchiness as the ones he enjoyed growing up. This insatiable craving planted the seeds of creation of austiNuts, Inc. From the time Doron began practicing clinical psychology, he devoted his free time to developing his vision of a dry roasting nut company.

I completely spaced ordering something for my dad for Father's Day and AustiNuts came through in the clutch. Not only was the customer service fantastic, Rachel went above and beyond by offering to deliver the gift basket to my dad herself to make sure he got it on time!! Rachel is a rock star and AustiNuts is now one of my go-to places for gifts!

I've shopped here many a time over the years and I know it is a local institution. But I watched them provide indidual service to an elderly lady who wasn't in line. Which I don't have an issue with. But when I waited in line and asked for 2 $30 office gifts combos and 5 - 1/2 lb sacks for stockings . I walked the whole store figuring out what I wanted and didn't see bags for self service. Then I waited in line. When I asked for the items, some of which are behind the counter, I got the response, that they don't have time for individual orders. That I have to choose from the pre-packaged items

Agree with so many others...great service, great selection and delicious candy. Super cool stop prior to getting pedi done around the corner. Very liberal with samples and willing to make a bunch of smaller goody bags to sample various tastes. Sitting here with a delicious malt ball (or two or three or four....).

This is a simply delightful little shop. I have a tradition of getting family food from Austin every year for Christmas, and this was my choice for last year. Their website is very helpful to gauge the selection they have but browsing the store is also fun to do. I ordered ahead online and things were prepared quickly for me. I found their shipping prices to be a little too steep for me so I opted to pick things up in the store and ship them myself, so it's nice that they have that in-store option.

My brother and his family in NJ love them, and my wife and I eat them and use them as a really welcome snack when we have company. I also send to Eric, who's a farmer in Missouri.. Bob's a professor at Princeton.
I wouldn't bother with the baskets. Just pick out nuts and have them UPS to everyone, especially those outside Austin, and all you need to write the gift cards they provide, provide the addresses, and charge it. They do the rest. They're always fresh, always wonderful, always appreciated.

Your Sweet Wasabi Mix should be illegal. It's one of those snacks that people shouldn't be gaining weight from, but yet I'm certain that I am, due of my inability to stop eating it. I have nightmares of what I might do if someone were to steal this bag of it off of my desk. Every fourth keystroke I have to stop for a handful of this stuff. I used to be able to go for six keystrokes, but those days are long gone.

Go in and ask to taste their latest creations. The staff there has always been extremely friendly and helpful. Perfect for Christmas gifts or college care gifts. They deliver too! Not just limited to nuts and gift baskets.
