We were so excited by the difference freshly ground spices made in our recipes, we immersed ourselves in research. We took different paths, but landed at Smith & Truslow with a shared passion for health and fitness, good times and travel, great wine and food. For years Jean Gleason worked at high gear in corporate America, but since transplanting herself in Colorado, has come to realize and enjoy the benefits of a balanced, healthy lifestyle.

To maximize freshness, store in a dark airtight container in a cool dry place. Once the spice is ground, flavor deteriorates with exposure to light, heat, air, humidity and time. Refills arrive in air-tight plastic bags. Simply snip a corner of your bag, refill your Smith & Truslow jar, apply the new label and recycle the bag.

I would only recommend this opticians if you enjoy being overcharged for low quality lenses. They have a good choice of frames but they charge high prices for average/low quality lenses. Much better lenses from reputable manufacturers are available elsewhere. This optician is reluctant even to say where they get your lenses from and in my experience flat out refused. They preferred to finally offer a full refund, presumably because they were charging more than double the price for lenses half as good as other opticians provide. If you must go here make sure you find out the manufacturer and level

I recently visited Smith and Swepson, wanting a more interpersonal service than from the generic Optician. Carrie, on reception, was warm, stylish and professional. My eye test was then very thorough, but the best part of the service for me was the image consultancy I had with Carol. Carol gave me the confidence to step out of my comfort zone, with my choice of frames and make a statement, which I have never really done before. The service and staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. The eye test was thorough and each step explained. I have been shown the inside of my eye (amazing) and shown why I am on my medication. They take great pride in making sure you have the right glasses to suit your face. The after service is brilliant too.

Smith and Swepson have been looking after me and my wife for several years, and don't recommend replacement spectacles unnecessarily. There's comprehensive testing including a state-of-the art retina camera (not available on NHS, the reasonable charge is worth the peace of mind). As a result of using this my wife was referred to local hospital and her condition is now closely monitored, keeping her sight as well as possible.
