A Good Old Days Home Care
Do you prefer a small facility for seniors with a loving, family-like environment, but are not sure if a "small" place can provide adequate professional care? We are supported by in-home visits of Doctors, Nurses, Physical and Occupational Therapists, Home Health and Hospice services. We help to make everybody feel great about themselves and assist with bathing, dressing and personal needs to ensure self-confidence.

In short, we are big enough to have the necessary expertise and knowledge, but are small enough to tailor to individual needs. As we all know, every person's need for care is different and constantly changing. Our small family like setting enables us to adapt and adjust quickly and efficiently without any loss in quality care.
Services
First and foremost, there is my wife Renate (the boss). She has a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and many years of experience in intensive-, palliative- and hospice care. She is actively involved with the Alzheimer association here in Reno and knows how to deal with certain types of Dementia. She is, as you can see, the boss and keeps an eye on the wellbeing of our seniors.
Yes, we do provide everything and anything for the well-being of our seniors and we do it with pleasure around the clock, 7 days a week. We do believe in the philosophy that a healthy mind and body go hand in hand and are trying to incorporate exercise and mind stimulating activities according to interest and abilities.
Homes like ours are officially licensed as "Residential Facilities for Groups" and only vary in the number of beds with 10 beds being the maximum. We are a 6 bed resident facility for elderly or disabled persons and we can accommodate up to 5 non-ambulatory (category 2) seniors. This entails that our home is wheelchair friendly, with ramps and walk-in-showers as well as fully adjustable motorized recliners and more.

Highly recommended! These guys take excellent care of my parents and see to their every need. I haven't seen my mom this happy in years. They do all the little things too, like have birthday parties, celebrate anniversaries and holidays, and make the residents feel like they are at home. Moving my parents to Good Old Days is the best decision I could have made.

Look at her smile! The home is nice, the staff is amazing. Having to put a family member into a care facility is one of the most difficult decisions for a family to make. We are thankful to have found such a wonderful place for our beloved Gigi/ Grandma/Mom.

The Care Givers and Owners provide exceptional care for our Mother, Marty Hoover. We know, when we leave, after a visit, the great care continues and is not an exaggerated front for our benefit.
The coordination between staff and Kindred Hospice is wonderful.
Communication with Good Old Days staff is excellent and very quick.
Holidays and Birthdays are celebrated! The residences are happy and chat with you if you take a moment to acknowledge them.
The extra care is very much appreciated as it is difficult to leave a loved one in someone else's care. I know in my heart I could not give our Mother

This facility sounds great but if you are looking for placement, they do not accept Medicaid Group Home Waiver. This information should be available to Aging and Disability Services so they do not get put on the list for those looking for places under Medicaid.

I give Good Old Days Home Care my highest recommendation. Their care for my Father meant the difference in his well being. The staff invested kindness and attention to his needs. We pulled my Father from two other facilities and never regretted it because of the wonderful service we received. They went above and beyond and I thank them!
