The cashier stated to my 9 year old daughter that he was going to take her to jail bc she touched a wine packet that I purchased. I let him know that he cannot do that. He stated that I was correct but would call the police and tell them I was armed as well!! Seriously. She is 9 she was trying to be helpful. I reminded her she couldn't touch the packet. Then he went on to say that it would he a nice vacation in jail away from my other children who were with me. I could go on and on, but my impression of this cashier is that he was very rude and inappropriate. We will not return.

Only place I went in to that said no service with no mask. I do not recommend. Anti American establishment. Communists.
Edit: Huxter, imagine if Washington said that about England and King George. Their wouldn't be a Huxters.

They've got a really good selection of food here, the fried chicken was amazing, it was within walking distance of our grandparents' motorhome (Periwinkle Park).

Both the convenient store and the liquor store next-door are staffed by the friendliest people who are ready to help you find what you need and give you great pointers to places around the island. We would not shop anywhere else

This store is great! So convenient with delicious food in the deli, ice cold drinks, grocery necessities and an amazing milk shake machine! Huxters has been a Sanibel institution for decades and has recently undergone a beautiful facelift. The managers and staff are all very friendly and care deeply about their community. Like all other businesses on the island, masks are required by city mandate. I feel very safe on Sanibel and I appreciate the observation of the mask rule here. I don't understand why anyone who cares about their fellow man would have a problem with this.

Vacationing in a pandemic is mostly to blame for this review. The world is in a strange place right now and people are falling through the cracks. I am a 45 year old man with breath limitations, due to a work place accident and an unpredictable heart condition that lowers my blood pressure and heart rate to extreme low numbers. Triggers such as heat, stress, carbon dioxide build up, dehydration and low oxygen levels are not good for anyone but for me it's down right bad. Due to the mask mandate, I have suffered as have many others with health limitations. I have been ordered by my doctor to not

This was our place to stop and grab drinks, snacks and essentials for our stay. The price and selection seemed right for an island/vacation convenience store and the staff was always friendly.

Grumpy cashiers but otherwise a good experience. Convenient location but island prices. Go elsewhere unless you want convenience. Good deli sandwiches overall but avoid the bland/small BLT.

I work on the island a lot and come here quite a bit for lunch. The deli is good, just really expensive. But the sandwich I got today is tiny, a lot less than usual but was still $8.00 for tuna. Was told that it just “depends on who you get, we all scoop differently.” I guess if y’all keep that guy back there you’ll make plenty of profit and we’ll get skinny. Maybe some training? Just a suggestion. Still hungry after eating my $8 tuna sandwich. Will have to find a new place to eat

Bought expensive pre-made sandwiches here to bring to the beach that were soggy and not great. I didn't find the deli employees or the cashier very friendly. I probably won't go back.

Amazing chicken salad. Bread they make the subs on is a lil too thick but it's yummy. Also a tad pricey, but that's Sanibel. Worth a stop.

DO NOT GO HERE! I never give one star as I work in the service industry and understand the complications of satisfying every customer that walks through the door, regardless of how your day is going. The mom and pop facade fades quickly as you approach the register and are half heartedly greeted by a seemingly miserable crew. The senile old man rang up our 3 drinks twice each and as we said something about it he quickly dismissed our discernment and said he only rang it up once. Which would be fine as long a receipt was provided. As we walked out the door I realized no receipt was given and I went

Staff was very friendly my family and I rented a boat for a couple of days and would get subs and chips plus ice before we went underway. The subs were boars head beef and the person making them triple wrapped in plastic wrap for the cooler. Sub roles were ok at best but they offer other breads fresh veggies tho I'll go back!!

Stopped here our first night on the island to grab some basics. Not a wide selection, but good enough to get started. A bit overpriced and a little run down for this area. Cashier was a little sleepy, but maybe he had a long day. Good location, they need to step it up a bit.

We went here to get some snacks and cold cuts for a picnic. The deli workers were friendly, helpful, and seemed to make some really good looking pre-made sandwiches there. They have Boar's Head products just like the big store down the road but for a tad cheaper. The selection is limited but had everything we wanted. They do not, however, have any fresh produce. Great little store for almost everything else you need. Try the deli pickle - awesome.

Got a picnic lunch here a few weeks ago for lunch on the beach.

The sandwiches are really tasty! I got the egg salad, and my husband got a triple decker roast beef. Big portions, and made to order. We were all really dissapointed by the potato salad. It was really, really inedible - which for potato salad is hard to accomplish. It was sweet - but had no salt.

We will likely come back for some sandwiches for our next picnic - but will avoid the deli salads. The fried chicken looks good! :)

A simple unassuming small town liquor store and deli known for their shrimp salad sandwiches and their pastrami and swiss and their cases of Bud Light to go. Their current clientele includes a lot of retired CIA agents. It is said that, years ago, their regulars included the likes of George C. Scott, Robert Redford and Robert Rauschenberg. What drew me there in the first place was that the business was founded by a retired sheetrocker from Indiana, a man with stories to tell, if you had time to share a beer. That was a few years ago so I can not tell you if that gentleman is still alive
