Standard Lumber keeps 6 panel steel doors at our Glenview yard. Our local distribution house keeps a huge variety of stocked doors that are brought in multiple times a week as either prehungs or slabs. Our expert sales staff is proficient with both residential and commercial doors. We're always diligent whether the job requires a single replacement door or an entire door-lot.
The window package for a house can be among the largest ticket items for the entire project. Our helpful window enthusiasts understand the available solutions. As industry veterans, we're adept at helping you get the most effective window for every opening. Our manufacturing partners were selected because our established window installers insist on a quality, dependable product.

We pride ourselves in sourcing a high grade of material with a full range of options. Our moulding shed houses over 192 different profiles of base, casing, and crown.
Standard Lumber Co. has a high quality, fully stocked, inventory of 1x and 5/4x trim in both cedar and treated pine. Stocked stain-grade and primed cedar offer a beautiful, dependable, and affordable option for any exterior trim work. Treated raw, or Wolmanized lumber, is also stocked. Exterior grade primed pine offers a high performing and consistent exterior trim board.

Forget the big box retailers--Standard Lumber is the place to go for home improvement projects! We needed to find a sliding 3-door solution for a large closet being built off our basement. It didn't fit standard specs which made it hard to identify what barn door/bypass hardware to get and which size doors would be needed. We did a lot of research at local retailers and online but never found a true solution we liked...at a price that made sense..and with materials actually available.
Standard Lumber was recommended and the staff there took time to go over our situation and put forth a few combinations

Wow! Excellent service and friendly staff, Standard Lumber beat all expectations. Superior, grade A+ quality lumber that is cheaper than many of big box stores. I'm very happy with the product I received along with the professionalism of this place. Highly recommended for contractors and DIYs alike. Will be going back.

We are neighbors of Standard Lumber. Last night it snowed a foot and our plow company lost our lot in the mix. Skip, from Standard Lumber sent over a driver and a plow truck to help us make our lot safe for our customers. When I walked over to pay for them helping us, Skip told me good neighbors are important and do not worry about it. I know I am not technically a customer, however this shows the character of the people that run the business. Thank you Skip, I really appreciate the help!

This was our first time purchasing through Standard Lumber and they exceeded our customer service expectations. We worked with Lee Cohen for our decking needs and he was outstanding. I was "that" customer that kept needing to change or add to my order and he didn't even blink an eye. Upon delivery, one of our pieces came damaged from the manufacturer. I was expecting a bit of a battle to get it replaced but Lee took care of it quickly and hassle-free. I highly recommend this shop!

If you think lumber suppliers are created equal, I would beg to differ. I have been in the custom home and construction business for 20 years and have worked with many lumber suppliers, big and small. Standard Lumber rises, head and shoulders, above them all. My firm is not nearly as large as some of their customers and yet Lee and the entire team/family always manage to make us feel like we are #1! I strive to work with other folks that believe, like I do, that clients and customers are the reason we are in business. Do right by all of them and you'll be successful. In this business 2x4's are

Great experience with these guys. Office staff was friendly and went out of their way to understand what I was using the lumber for so they could recommend the right product. Lumber was delivered as promised and they called in advance so I could confer with driver where to unload. Even the driver went out of his way to accommodate my needs. Quality of the wood is excellent and competitively priced.

Typical example of why businesses fail. If you are too small of a business for them they will ignore you and treat you like you are the one responsible to pick up their lowest quality lumber! Prices are not even satisfactory comapred to Menard's or Home Depot, but this is not as disgusting as the rudeness of the owner - Skip. Skip inherited this business after his father and now he behaves like he doesn't need to care for small business customers anymore. Very sad. Don't bother.
