In the years to follow he would go on to build skateboard ramps for every neighborhood kid whose parents would allow it as well as enjoying the finished product himself. He went on pursue auto-mechanics in high school and amphibious vehicles in the United States Marines. Josh worked in the service industry after serving in the Armed Forces.
When not woodworking Josh enjoys spending time with his son, wakeboarding and hanging out by the pool. In early 2009 Josh realized that the residents of Austin and surrounding areas needed quality carpentry and wood work at honest prices. He founded Triple Crown Carpentry to utilize and enjoy his skills at improving existing home value and Austin home repair.

I contacted Josh regarding a project I needed done. He responded to my email within hours and let me know that he is unfortunately booked out until mid-January 2019. (Kudos to him!) Instead of just stating he is unable to help me because of his booked schedule, he gave me a referral to another Austin company who can help me. Thank you, Josh! Even though we are not going to be using your services (only because I need these projects completed ASAP), I greatly appreciated your timeliness, professionalism and customer service.

I hired Josh Hager (a/k/a triple crown) to build custom cabinets and bookcases in my bedroom because I have very high ceilings and to me the room looked out of balance with so much empty wall space up high. Josh's work completely changed the look of the room--I am THRILLED with the transformation. I hired him months earlier because his schedule was so full, but he showed up on the date he promised me and delivered finished work exactly as scheduled. We hired Josh to build an entertainment center in a small living room that was really lacking a focal point/sophisticated feel. He was very easy to work with, extremely detail-oriented, honest, and not afraid to tell us what his thoughts were on various parts of the design as we went through the process. Josh's stunning carpentry work (and the awesome work of the painter he recommended) completely transformed the space and was worth every penny (and to be honest, it cost quite a few pennies). I really, really, really wanted things to work out with Josh. My mom used his service (she wrote on of these Yelp reviews!) for a lot of work in her house, and it all turned out gorgeously. It's clear that the work he does is high quality and at a reasonable rate.
That being said, Customer service is huge. As is being clear when your medium is email as opposed to phone for communication.

Josh has a ridiculous amount of patience and willingness to complete a job, even if it takes 45 emails at last count (mostly sent from me). He even worked with the door company to ensure the right measurements directly.
He put in our entry door this last weekend and the amount of care and concern he had from start to finish on the project is really great to see in a business that often prides itself on speed, not quality. I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again - he's a true gem.

Triple Crown Trim replaced all of the kitchen cabinet doors and kitchen drawer boxes and fronts in our home. Everything went together perfect and Josh made it all look easy (I am sure it was not too)! The craftmanship looks great and we have been completely satisfied with the work. Josh made our 1953 kitchen look brand new and amazing!
Highly reccommend Josh and his company. If you are looking for a trim carpenter, you can't go wrong. We will be using him again for our projects around the house again.
