Services
It is a privilege to serve as the Principal of Tahquitz High School. I have been in Hemet Unified School District for 14 years where I have been a teacher and administrator. I was the Activities Director here for five years, and I have now found my way home and I am once again a Titan! I consider it an honor to lead a school with tradition and P.R.I.D.E.
The ASVAB will summarize your students' career exploration and interests, verbal skills, math skills, and science and technical skills. There is a built-in career exploration interest inventory to help guide your student in choosing a career path that most matches their skills and interests.

The exam is also required for those interested in pursuing the U.S. Armed Services (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard) as their post-secondary option. The SBAC assesses math and English Language Arts for the 21st Century. All SBAC assessments are conducted on the computer, are cutting edge, and are relevant for your 21st Century student.
At Tahquitz, we are moving toward AVID School-wide, which implies that students (whether or not they are choosing college as their post-secondary goal) will be prepared for college and career by utilizing WICOR (Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading) strategies.

AVID's proven learning support structure, known as WICOR, incorporates teaching/learning methodologies in the critical areas of Writing to Learn, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading to Learn.WICOR provides a learning model that educators can use to guide students in comprehending concepts and articulating ideas at increasingly complex levels (scaffolding) within developmental, general education, and discipline-based curricula.
Academic Support: Tutoring is provided daily in the Enlightenment Center located in the Library. Students can receive free tutoring from our Older Youth Instructors or Student Leaders upon request. Individualized homework assistance is always available. Students have access to study groups, computers, school supplies, and printing.

Just letting everyone know, they're charging everybody (yes, even infants) $10 for graduation tickets. And of course they are NON refundable. So if you're sick like me and want your money back so somebody else can take your seat just know you're out of luck.

Whoever designed the stadium to fit in the bowl between the two peaks of Tres Torito's was a genius that is a great Amphitheater for a football stadium!

I have to say that the staff at Tahquitz really care about the kids. The Principal and Vice Principals want to see the kids succeed. They are always promoting Titan Pride which is not just a saying but a way of life. All three of my girls have gone here and all of them stated that Tahquitz was the school of their choice if they had to do it again.

They don't allow you to walk around with skateboards because its a "weapon" which is ridiculously stupid because anything can be used as a weapon. What are they gonna do next, make people walk around with elbow pads and knee pads so we don't get hurt.Plus the principle calls like almost everyday and it gets really annoying.Just ridiculous...
