The History of Machine Engraving date back to the late 1940s. The New Hermes Engraving Machine Company, based in New York, was the king of the industry. They built various types of engraving pantograf machines including table top and some specifically created for jewelry, bowling balls, and glass.
The most popular machine of New Hermes was the GTX, which is still used today for jewelry engraving as well as for charms, pens, lighters, rounded items such as mugs, and picture frames as well as engraving plastic sign.Others models of the GTX followed making it possible to engrave larger items. During the late 20th century with the advancement of technology, computer generated engraving took over.

1- Scribing on the glass more like hand engraving on jewelry, we do not know of any one doing it that way. 2- Carving into the glass with a diamond wheel, this method is limited to straight lines and is used by the big factories to decorate vases and the like. 3- Etching with acid, this is a practical way; the problem is that the etching is to light on the glass, it is popular with the craft people, we tried but did not like.

The worst run business! Rios engraving was very good, Sanchez took over, horrible experience. Would have been zero stars if possible. I left something to be engraved, and was promised for a week later. After a week, I checked two days in a row, not ready. Then promised for next day at 9am. Came back at noon, not even started! DO NOT GO HERE!

Can I give this 10 stars??
I had a money clip that needed to be engraved with my son's initials and a message on the back.
First of all the price was reasonable .. and was ready in 24 hours! I picked it up and realized once I got home that the initials were transposed. I thought it was the stores mistake and simply asked if it could be fixed ... Rio's was so apologetic and said to bring it back in.
Come to realize that it was MY MISTAKE! I transposed the initials because and used my other son's initials! Not only did they fix it to perfection but charged me NOTHING to fix my

I looked on Yelp and other sites to find where to replace a watch battery in Morristown. They recommended a jeweler on South Street. On the way there I happened to notice that Rios changes watch batteries. It was $7 (many places charge twice that much) and done quickly. I know where I'm going from now on! Thank you, Rios! I've told my friends at work.

I had a great experience at this family-owned store, which has been in the same Morristown location for almost 50 years. The team there was very friendly and helpful in finding exactly what I needed in a catalog. They were able to order the trophy (for a fantasy football league) and engrave it, and have it ready for pick up in less than a week. Very satisfied, and will return for any trophy / engraving needs.

Rios' is a Morristown institution! They have been here for 45 years. I can say from personal experience, they are not only very nice to work with but accurate, when it counts (if you were having your spouse-to-be's wedding ring engraved, you'd want it accurate- no?)
In addition to engraving, they provide a number other services, including some that can be tough to find- jewelry and watch repair, bronzing baby shoes, making engraved signs- including signs in braille, gold stamping and more, Check em out. They are easy to find, just off the main drags of Morristown, with simple street
