During my childhood, my father, Larry Geddes, worked for various trucking companies in one capacity or another. After graduating from high school in 1977, my father allowed me to travel with him over the road as a helper on a moving truck. I fell in love with the freedom of the job and worked my way from helper to driver to warehouse manager to dispatcher to operations manager over the next sixteen years.
I learned the business from the bottom up. The Ideal Move was established in 1993 with three men and two trucks. Through the years, we have grown to a fleet including eleven trucks and thirteen full-time employees. We are one of the only professional movers in the country to offer our valued employees health insurance and a 401K plan.

Hiring The Ideal Move was a great decision. They made the process easy from the start. I used FaceTime to walk around the apartment for the estimate, which ended up being spot-on. We had to change the date three times and I was never made to feel high-maintenance. The team arrived early, they were professional and fun and thorough from start to finish. We were in good hands throughout the process, I can’t say enough about the experience!

Critical: Professionalism
Too many damages. Very unprofessional. My belongings were loaded on a Allied Truck. Was assured it would not be moved. Guess what it came in a U Hall truck. Plenty of room for large trucks to delivery. He said it was his Discretion. However, different van lines had no problems.

We interviewed several firms and were impressed with their agent and how she addressed our needs and concerns in moving to another State. The entire process was excellent. Care was given to all items to be shipped, the cost was reasonable and, upon arrival everything was brought directly to our new residence, placed where we wanted it, and everything was in good condition. We strongly recommend this firm.
