The sooner the better! Mirta recommends six to eight weeks before the wedding to start your alterations, hems & bustles. Two weeks before the wedding, Mirta will meet with you again to make sure everything fits to your liking. This is especially important for those who want to lose weight right before the Big Day.

Mirta from Alterations by Mirta, was an absolute DREAM to work with! She created the drape sleeve and cape look, that was a must on my list, to absolute perfection! She created a totally unique piece that took my dress from love to obsession! She is truly the best, and I am so lucky to now call her my friend. Mirta really knows what she is doing. I live up North and came in 3 times in 3 days while I was down in Sarasota. She works out of her home and is super flexible, I even came later in the evening to several times. Her attention to detail is incredible, my dress had a lot of lace detail along the train that she kept interacted while taking off a lot of the length. The bustle looked just as good as the full train. Mirta is so sweet and will work through the night to get your dress looking perfect!

In my specific situation, I received my final, altered wedding dress the night before departing for my destination wedding (in Sarasota) and it didn’t fit properly. First of all, GOD BLESS THIS WOMAN.
I came in about two weeks prior to my best friend's destination wedding for a hem on my bridesmaid's dress. Mirta fit me in the same day I called and said she would have it done on time.
HOWEVER, Hurricane Irma had other plans and my flights got changed with 24 hrs notice to take off. Mirta let me come in same day and whipped the hem out perfectly.
Now I know, "it's just a hem," but she had SO many other dresses and crazy brides to deal with (she gave them all the choice of picking up their dress for their piece of mind). This woman is amazing.
