Always a nice friendly staff (look for Jackie - she'll even laugh at your bad jokes while offering great ideas) with an excellent variety of reasonably priced plants/flowers and planting accessories like pots, compost, etc.

We went to the Fall Fest today with our 2 grown children and 5 young granddaughters. We all thought it was very nice. They had 2 owls there and 2 people educating us about owls. Free clay pot painting for the kids and free hotdogs for all. A great free event.

Great place for a farmer's market, always delicious corn, melons and watermelons, I love to buy eggplants and bell peppers.
But the only drawback is that you always need to check the goods that go by weight, almost always count more by 30-90 cents ...
You need to check the weight and the receipt.

A cool little store with lots of treasures to find! Very friendly employees. Went in just to browse and came out with a wagon full. They have unique lawn art and decor, supplies and plants. They have a whole house of bird houses and supplies. Large bags of bird seed. Get out of the big box stores and support local small business.

I always find some fun things here. This time it was a tomato cage, bird bath cleaner, a correopsis and then a dog with a stick entertaining me as I was checking out. Made me smile.😊

We had done work that required heavy machinery and my front and back lawn was destroyed.
With the help of Clark and the rest of the Barn Owl Staff I have a gorgeous front and back lawn. We were able to do it ourselves with their guidance. No weeds in their seed!!!

We were so impressed by their service over the phone when ordering! Clark was amazing and knowledgeable. We didn’t feel rushed and he gave us wonderful suggestions. We were able to pick up our order within… an hour and it was contactless and you can see they had best practices in place for social distancing. We were so glad to be able to support a local business !

Great go to store for my plants and cat food. I redid my from landscaping in late September but still wanted colorful plants for the rest of fall. Clark made some wonderful recommendations. They had just enough plants for my planters. I'm so thrilled about how my new landscape. I can't wait till next spring to do an all out landscape of front, side and backyard. Clark is so knowledgeable, and had some ideas for me. I like the personal touch not found at the big box stores. By the way, I was happy with their prices.

I love this place.
In the spring they offer an incredible selection of heirloom, organic, and hybrid seeds.
In the summer I purchase fresh, locally grown produce. They have a large variety of different fruits and vegetables. Fresh honey, jams, preserves...a real treat.
Their plants, flowers, and bushes are healthy and well cared for. Not the neglected half dead stock you often see at big box stores.
In the fall I stock up on bird seed when it's on sale. They store it for me all winter long so all I have to do is pick it up (they even carry the bags and load my trunk).
In the winter they

We bought our Christmas tree from Barn Owl this year and I must say...this has been the best tree we have ever had!! Loved it so much it was hard to take down and put it out at the curb. We host Christmas eve every year and this year we got so many compliments on our tree! Thank you so much!!

Also - you have great customer service, love your bird food selection, and we get our pumpkins from you every year as well! Keep up the good work!

Many times driving past, always wanted to go to Barn Owl Garden Center. Yesterday visiting the farmer's market was disappointed by the fact they took me to a dollar more for basil that I did not buy... when I noticed and told them they returned without any apology to customer... then, at home I weighed 2 tomatoes, for which they counted 1.5 pound and took $3, but their real weight was 1.1 pound... I'm surprised this Sicilian accounting...

Been buying tomatoes and other veggies here going on four summers now. They're within walking distance of my home, though I drive because I buy too much to carry.

Seems like their selection is actually better than usual this year. I don't think I'd seen beets or kohlrabi there in years past. The tomatoes, cucumbers, squash and zucchini have always been, and remain, top notch. I love getting home and slicing up a fresh tomato nice and thick, throwing a little sea salt on it and having a snack.

Barn Owl is a farmstand located off of Gary Avenue in Carol Stream (The village with no downtown... aren't you glad you know that now?).

My family uses it to refill our propane tank. It's 18 bucks. They have a bunch of plants, flowers, veggies, and fruits too. I can't speak on anything else besides the propane, which is quick and painless.

You sometimes have to find someone to come fill your tank i.e. go into the main barn and ask. Not a big deal, though.

Fall is in the air: sort of. And though I have never purchased from Barn Owl before, I thought I would take a peak at their seasonal flowers.

Let it also be known that I am no expert: no green thumb have I. Nice day for snooping around; and I was pretty much left alone.

What did catch my eye were some gorgeous pansies! The color calibration mechanism in my head kept thinking purple and gold; purple and gold. So, I got several large scale yellow mum plants, as well.

The location I usually go to is also priced moderate to high: but if these take as good as they look then I will be happy. So,
