Services
Maria is a native of Los Angeles California and moved to the Katy area in 2004 with her husband and two children. Maria joins our team with over 25 years of experience in the dental profession. She really enjoys assisting in the coordination of transforming beautiful smiles along with the rest of the team at Smile Artisans.
Our Doctors include internationally trained DR. VIRGILIO GUTIERREZ, recipient of numerous awards and honors, Board Certified Orthodontist, DR. LIZA SHEVCHENKO, along with a highly skilled staff and office personnel. The entire Smile Artisans team is trained to deliver what we are known for - the Artisan Concept: a complete patient-focused and comprehensive dental experience.
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, But we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit. Dr. G received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Texas Health and Science Center San Antonio Dental School.
She then received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The University of Texas Dental School in Houston. At the top of her class, she received her degree with honors and was recognized by the university as an "outstanding graduate". Building on her list of achievements in education and research, she was accepted into an orthodontic residency at The University of Texas Dental School.
Our Spacious Modern Facility is located in the heart of the prestigious and award-winning Cypress community of Towne Lake. Because of our central location, we are able to serve patients from all surrounding communities including Towne Lake, Bridgeland, Cypress Creek Lakes, Coles Crossing, Blackhorse Ranch, Fairfield, and many others including the greater Houston area.

From the moment I walked through the door at Smile Artisans, I was warmly greeted and immediately felt welcomed. The hygienist, Sherry, was friendly, kind, knowledgeable and very gentle with her cleaning. Dr. Gutierrez was also friendly, nice and very welcoming. The office was very clean and modern. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with my first visit, and will definitely be using Dr.Gutierrez and his staff at Smile Artisans as my new “smile artisan”!

We just moved to the area and needed a new dentist. I went today for my cleaning and the team was great, from the front office to the hygienist. I met with Dr. G and he is very helpful.
My teeth feel great! They used a baking soda scrub to polish your teeth! My teeth feel great! Nice chairs, TVs in the rooms and on the ceiling to keep you entertained while they work! Great space!!

I went in today to evaluate the dentist for my dental work that needed to be done. I was very impressed with the time provided to me and the discussion on the procedures and expectations when the work would be done. All the staff was friendly, very attentive, and helpful. Once done discussing the options I chose to stick with this location and was very satisfied with the evaluation work of pictures, XRAYs, and imaging done to provide a complete consultation next week. I also had my semi annual cleaning done today and it was by far the best experience I have had with a routine teeth cleaning. The

Fantastic experience. Friendly and knowledgeable doctor and staff. Everyone, especially Ray went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and didn’t have any discomfort with my severe sensitivity during my cleaning. Dr. Gutierrez was warm and very thorough, making sure to explain and visually show areas requiring work. I appreciated being advised of what work was needed and what was not, as previous dentists have made it seem like I need thousands of dollars worth of work. Would recommended 10/10!
