As an Undergraduate from University of Maryland College Park with a B.S. in Microbiology, he went on to extend his education, training at Maryland Dental School in Baltimore where he pursued a Masters degree in Biochemistry. Since completing his degree, Dr. Barakat has continued to pursue extensive training in cosmetic and implant dentistry.

In order to provide nothing but the best to our patients, our office uses state-of-the-art technologies in all our procedures.
A dental cleaning is a professional cleaning you receive from a dentist or dental hygienist. Most dental cleanings take only between 25 and 30 minutes. Cleanings should be performed every six months to prevent excessive plaque buildup. Plaque left untreated can lead to unhealthy gums and tooth decay.
The first time I went to Dr. Barakat was for an emergency! I had excruciating pain in a deep cavity and Dr. Barakat eased my fears, not only with his patient manner but also with his professionalism. He accommodated me and I was shocked how quickly I felt better. Since then, he has become my dentist.
The Invisalign treatment consists of a series of clear, snap-on, custom fit, removable mouth trays that apply a controlled amount of force to your teeth, forcing them to shift. The system provides the same beautiful results as traditional braces, but since the trays are made of clear plastic, they are virtually invisible.

I have such DISDAIN for B3 Dental. I would give it a NEGATIVE rating if possible. This is the dental office that Barakat has right by Dunn Loring metro. There hasn't been one instance of my experience with them that has been good, which has led me to obviously NOT use them anymore. I wanted to give them a chance, so went to them a few times.
There has always been an issue. They have completely forgotten my appointment, and tried to play it off by servicing me and another patient, going back and forth. Messing up an appointment is a norm for them. Changing the appointment from the one set

All I can say is..amazing. And I don't often say this about a dentist, believe me! I was taken care of by a hygienist named Tasha (sp?) she did deep cleaning for me and warned me that it wasn't going to be pleasant. But she did the best she could and I appreciated that. For once in my life, after my experience with this practice, I can floss without bleeding. I am blown away and highly recommend this place. Thank you!

I hadn't been in the dentist in years and needed a bunch of work done. I had built up a very strong phobia, and told Dr. Barakut about it. He was incredibly kind and understanding. And, though I felt a bunch of anxiety about it, he talked me through everything and affirmed me during my root canal... and two crowns. He also saved my brother over a grand when his previous dentist said he needed a root canal, but in the end needed an adjustment to his crown. A very good doctor in every meaning of the word.

I had attended the Avenir Place Pumpkin Fest last (I love pumpkin festivals!) year and stopped by at the Denistry booth. Dr. Barakat himself was professional and congenial, that I knew I wanted to have him as my next dentist. The other dental assistants were kind and friendly.
It also helped knowing that my coworker also goes to him for her dental visit, and said great things about him. After meeting him in person, I can only think of positive remarks.

If you are like me and will make any excuse not to visit a dentist Dany Barakat will change the way you feel about his profession! Dany and his highly skilled team are like family. I have been seeing Dany now for 10+years and have had only positive experiences . I have had extensive work done thanks to genetics, every tooth either filled, root canal or capped. He is gentle, compassionate and super knowledgable!! I love the new location and the office it is very hip and up to date. The way they commutate with patients regarding appointments and referrals is top notch! LOVE THIS OFFICE!!!

I cannot say a single bad thing about Dr. Dany or his practice. I have been using their services for more than 16 years and that included a couple of crowns, root canals, an invisalign treatment, and teeth whitening.
Dr. Dany is very unique in the fact that he spends as much time as it takes to do things the right way and correct any problems.
many of my friends are now regular patients and my son will be one very soon.

Dr. Barakat is a great dentist, he uses the right technology and has the right staff and his message/email system really helps to make sure you make it to your appointment. He really emphasizes on making flossing and using an electric toothbrush a habit, and I couldn't be more happy. The only reason I'm giving a lower rate is because I recommended a few people to go with him (they 're supposed to give you credit) and had a positive balance from something I paid, but my insurance covered later. When I moved away from the DC area and asked for it I was told my balance was zero. Now

Prior to him I switched dentist every year due to either bad communication, horrible bedside manner, and painful dental repairs.
With Dr. Barakat, I have had two root canals, and a crown, and every time I was able to come back to work after the procedure and work. The procedure was also pain free because he takes his time. He really does. I am sure he thinks I am one of his more annoying patients 'cause I don't get numbed so easily, but he never rushes the process.

I have been going to Dr. Barakat and his team of professionals for several years now and have been very satisfied. After getting a few issues resolved with my teeth, you could see they really focus on preventative care and since I started my visits have been much more routine.
Even during the occasional filling or dental work i could not imagine a better environment. They are also good at offering extra services (such as Invisiline) without pressuring you.
