Delicious prime tenderloin, great little shop in the heart of Georgetown!

This is a really good business - the butchers have helped us on several special occasions including preparing a small order of Italian sausage even after the business had run out because of demand. That was really generous and it tasted amazing; my spaghetti was a winner last night because of this!
They also carry some unique Mediterranean food including Greek olive oil and Italian pasta. I recommend this business - very high quality and there's also a great cafe nearby (several in fact! Grace Street and Blue Bottle)

I don't write a lot of reviews and I usually only write them when I have something good to say. I have something GREAT to say. The Georgetown Butcher and The Everett Hall Boutique (see other reviews) are two places that make you feel good about your life choices. Neither place is cheap, but then again their wares aren't cheap and you get more than you pay for. Both are so good, you will never buy from a "store" again. Also, both are Black owned.

Always an amazing selection of meats. If you call ahead they will make sure to have whatever you need. Amazingly friendly service. More expensive than a grocery store, but absolutely worth it for the quality.

This shop is terrific. Super friendly staff who clearly know what they are doing and are accommodating and kind. They also make stock on site that is high quality. And, as someone who is extremely picky about crab cakes, their crab cakes are also excellent.

Great place. Owner and staff are incredibly nice and helpful unlike some of the other local butchers without mentioning names. Many organic options including gluten free crab cakes. Great meats and seafood options.
Adding to this review. Visited the store this weekend. wanted a NY Strip for a guest who could not eat crab cakes. picked out a great strip. After looking at the strip the butcher said it was a little dry and wanted to make sure he found a steak I would really like. Went into the back and cut a strip in front of me and said I want to make sure I am giving you a steak I would want for

Best butcher in town. This team is on top of their game and happy to give any tips you may need to make your meal a success. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We go back every few weeks.

I needed an uncommon item last minute (for a school science project) and while Wendell didn't have it, he made several calls to help me find what I needed. What a nice guy! Definitely knows his stuff. Will be coming back and you should too.

Amazing customer Service and are willing to put things on hold for you for days. For such great customer service and high quality products, the prices are more than fair and a lot lower than you would expect from a gourmet butcher!

I visited Georgetown Butcher today, after reading the article in The Washington Post. I was excited and Happy for the owner. I met him 10 years ago while working in McLean I shopped in McLean Organic Butcher and to me he went MIA lol only to discover he followed his heart and pursued his dream. The crabcakes were delicious.

Incredible butcher run by incredible people. Wendell typically has whatever cut I'm looking for, and has yet to fail getting me items he doesn't regularly carry.

Everyone who works here is so nice and helpful. They've walked me through the various options for lamb, given me tips to get the most out of my purchase, and are just genuinely great to chat with.

Holy Smoke! We picked up two ribeye from our new favorite butcher. I wish I got a photo of the finished product but, we devoured it. It literally melted in my mouth. Amazing quality.

Excellent spot. Impressive selection of items, great service, and they were insistent that if I ever wanted something they didn't have, I just needed to let them know and they would source it for me. Fresh ground burger blend when I asked for it, awesome variety of steaks, high quality seafood. High end butchery is always going to be pricey, but relative to the competition Georgetown Butcher seemed to have some of the best prices in town. I'd highly recommend going here.

What a find. This shop embodies class and quality. The customer service is exceptional. Harley and Debbie and everyone here make you feel well taken care of and they know exactly what they are doing. We are obsessed with the Georgetown cut steak and the crab cakes. The word that can describe this place is: IMPRESSIVE.

This minority-owned business is awesome and the owner is really friendly. My husband and I have visited twice in the past two weeks, and the staff is extremely helpful, giving us great advice on how to prepare our bone marrow (which we'd never prepared before and came out great). They have a very impressive selection of local meats, honey, oils, crackers, and drinks.

I was so pleased to learn about Georgetown Butcher. Because of the pandemic Whole Foods haven't been able to provide the type of service I needed. But I was able to get the fresh chicken I needed to make my curry chicken from Georgetown Butcher. The owner is very nice and everyone there has really good customer service. They have great prices and they maintain social distancing practices which was great for me. Great place, super friendly staff. I've needed ground pork on two separate occasions, which can be tricky to find outside of large grocers. Both times, they've ground some of their Berkshire pork for me, and it has been delicious. They also having a growing number of veggies, side items, cheeses, and frozen meats. I've got my eye on their sandwiches. That Italian and steak and cheese sound bomb.

Georgetown is a difficult neighborhood for small + local businesses. This is one worth supporting. If you love to cook, frequent this place.

I love this place -- great for beef (get the wagyu Georgetown Cut), fresh fish, crab cakes and sandwiches too. They also have a cool selection of gourmet products and olive oils. But the best part about Georgetown Butcher is the service from Wendell and his team.

Excellent,excellent customer service. I came in yesterday to purchase 2 ribeyes on the bone and the guys there treated me great. I also picked up a few sides of salami and pepperoni to use for pizza night. I highly recommend Georgetown Butcher. I never would have heard of them had it not been for yelp focusing on black owned businesses.

Stumbled upon this place on our Sunday walk. While looking at the menu outside, one of the team members came out and welcomed us to come in. So glad we tried it out. We bought some beef filets, and some sausage. The quality of the meat was top notch along with the customer service. I haven’t had steaks that tender in a long time. The team was beyond welcoming and very helpful. Highly recommend this spot. We will definitely be coming back on a regular basis.

I just bought a large container of fresh seafood bisque and it was beautiful. I was feeling worn down before eating it, but the soup seemed to revive me.

High quality with large chunks of chilean bass, scallops, and in shell mussels.

Love love this place! Super friendly and helpful staff. Haven't had the chance to buy meat or the deli items here but the sandwiches are great. We especially love the salmon BLT. Delicious with quality ingredients and such a great deal for what you get! Their salmon dog treats are amazing too! My pup drags me here so I can buy her some. And before the pandemic they were so welcoming to my dog and was fine with her inside while we wait for our respective orders, salmon treats for her and sandwiches for the humans. Hehe.

It was recommended to get the GTs Cut as the house specialty. I got one today and it was AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!!!! The closest thing I've had to this is a true Wagyu.

First of all, the service and quality of the products are the reasons to shop here. Wendell is a prince and a great guy to get to visit with when you stop by. It feels great to support a local business that focuses on providing products that you just cannot find in a typical supermarket or even WholeFoods.

This is a great place and such a good addition to Grace Street! I had the chance to stop in pre-COVID but have continued to go back regularly. The store has a great selection and all of their products are incredibly high quality. I cannot recommend the marinated Georgetown cut enough- it's a bit like a skirt steak, very easy to cook and SO flavorful, it honestly tastes like a restaurant dish. I called Georgetown Butcher to ask about the best way to cook and prepare it and they were very helpful and walked me through the whole process. There are so many more products I'm looking forward

Was walking by when the delicious aromas came wafting out of the store beckoning me to come in. Wendell made ribs and I happily purchased a few pounds to take home for my teenage boys for dinner. I am SO glad I stumbled upon this place, especially during COVID, as good butchers are hard to come by and I want to support local businesses.

They have safety precautions in place, only one customer at a time, and they are all so helpful and happy to answer any questions. They sell everything from prepared foods, seafood, meats, and specialty luxury products. Check them out! Support local!

I was told about this spot today as a local business to support during COVID-19. It's only been open for a couple of months but I will definitely be a future supporter after my experience today. They only let one person in at a time and offered hand sanitizer, so I felt safe. The butcher was very helpful throughout the entire purchase.
