At Younis Orthodontics, we offer two kinds of braces - Metal Braces and Clarity Advanced Clear Braces. Traditional braces are a great option for young children because they help to fix these orthodontic issues as early on in their lives as possible. Apart from aesthetics, there are many reasons teens should consider braces such as having a bad bite or overcrowded teeth.
Unlike metal braces, each Clarity brace is made of a translucent ceramic material that blends in with your natural tooth color. They do not stain or change color. They are as sturdy as they are attractive and work exactly the same as metal braces. Clear braces are also beneficial to patients who have allergies to certain metals.
Not every child will naturally have perfect teeth - far from it. In fact, because of genetics and the precise ways that a child's mouth develops, certain types of issues - like crooked teeth, crowded teeth, spaced teeth, overbites and underbites can occur at almost any age.
However, making an appointment for your child to go to the orthodontist early is a great way to get an idea of exactly what types of problems he or she may have and make plans to correct it.For most kids, braces are usually worn closer to middle school but there are some developmental problems that should be corrected between the ages of 7-9 years.

Having a beautiful smile and a correct bite is an important feature for teens that can definitely affect their confidence and self-esteem. These problems can absolutely continue to get worse as they get older, making it harder to keep teeth clean and healthy - which is why braces for teens are ultimately so important.
