A Reprieve assists women with maintaining sobriety as productive members of a community where service to others is the focal point. We believe that recovery can only be accomplished through developing positive relationships. Our intent for each individual is to have them create a plan of action that can be developed, improved, and that focuses on three relational areas: spirituality, community, and self.

We strive to help residents understand how they separated from self, from spirituality, and from their community. Then we help them develop their personal plan for healthy relations to self, spirituality, and others. This is, of course, accomplished through intensive personal work in the Twelve Step discipline.
Services
A Reprieve for Women is a place that helps you find your skills and talents and match them with your passion and gifts. So, when you leave here you have a new sense of identity and purpose as you live a sober life. The focus of the first 90 days is to help residents identify their own spirituality, community and self.
Many people in early recovery have little to no idea what they want to do for employment. Some have never been successful in any area, do not enjoy their current path, or they may have been very successful in a career that is considered high risk to their recovery. During this portion of the program, we explore each Resident's interests, aptitude, and personality type to help determine which career field suits them individually.
We believe the family programs at The Reprieve are unique. Over the course of 3 days we provide education from the scientific, as well as the spiritual understanding of the disease of addiction. What follows is an in-depth exploration of each of the 12-steps along with an explanation of why each is necessary to ensure the internal transformation required for recovery.
A Reprieve for Women is a home - a place to make real connections - a place to belong - a sisterhood. We're also a place to have fun, eat great food and where recovery is happening every day. Women at A Reprieve are engaged in a wide variety of activities such as art, dance, and community activities that all assist in forming a strong environment for healing.
At A Reprieve for Women, we're committed to being genuine, honest and invested even when the path for our resident is hard. We believe so strongly in the processes we teach our residents - of developing Spirituality, Community, and Self - that we practice them as a staff as well. A Reprieve for Women opened in September of 2016 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and is modeled after The Reprieve in Opelika, Alabama, which was established in 2009.

I owe everything in my amazing new (sober) life to Reprieve! I attended their 6 month residential treatment program and then stayed for 3 more months in sober living. I knew I needed to make a change in my behaviors, as well as take time to really learn about myself through in-depth therapy in an enclosed and safe environment. The Reprieve was the perfect place for me.
The staff is the highlight for me - they each challenged and supported me in their own way. They were my biggest cheerleader and most patient confidant. They were in contact with my friends and family often. They set excellent examples

The reprieve truly became my home away from home and the best safe place to get sober. The staff is incredibly loving and the program really works. I cannot say enough good words about this place. I thank them for a new life and a new me. Highly recommend this place for any woman wanting sobriety. This place has helped me to deal with the issues that led me to drinking and using in a non judgmental home. Before I came here, I was miserable, and the Reprieve gave me hope.
