The Virnau family moved to Sealy and began farming in 1944. Walter Virnau, Jr. started the Virnau Machine Shop in 1958 in Sealy, where they maintained their own equipment in addition to fabricating cattle guards, flag poles, land planes, and diving into most anything else associated with steel and fabrication.
