After making a specific visit to a bank inside a Walmart to discuss a reoccurring charge that I wanted to stop any future charges from. The teller claimd to put a stop payment on any future charges from company making these monthly charges, I did this in late February & didn't see any charges from that company until late August when it charged my account without my permission again causing me another overdraft fee & then repeated charing me AGAIN RESULT IN A LATE FEE.

This Academy Bank Location has the absolute worst customer service! I had called beforehand to make sure they would cash a personal check and of course on the phone they told me it was no problem and to come on in... Once I get there Dominique is very rude and short and tells me that because they've never seen the personal check before they cannot cash it... Could not explain to me anymore why they could not cash my check!

Terrible bank, ATM rarely works. Most tellers don't even show up for work and if they do show up...What bank opens at 10 am? It's in Walmart which is a freaking nightmare and the update is worthless! Zelle? New bank if this dump doesn't get it together pronto get it together academy bank you're not the only game in town and if I hear one more snotty word about working in Walmart then I'm sure you'll capable of providing crappy service elsewhere, like Gap, where you can be a rude, holier than thou. service rep. They don’t even deserve 1 star, My daughter Opened an account to start her credit. It took literally 2 hours to open it because nobody knew how to do it. Finally it was done, my daughter got her card then she received a lettter saying that she needed to provide her personal information DOB, SS#, etc. The same information that they took 2 hours to put in the computer. She went to ask about it and she was told that the letter was sent by mistake. Then her card got canceled and her account closed. It was a pre pay account she had deposited $300.00. This is honestly the worst bank to be with . I was with them for over 8 years and loved when Michelle was manager . She was always very nice and friendly took good care of all customers . Some new manager RICO got hired and ever since he’s been there he’s always rude and just unpleasant to be around . So much I decided to end my relationship with academy and move to a different bank that values its customers more .

Every time i shop online at Walmart grocery they freeze my account. They don't call you or text you that your account has been frozen. i called and they said Walmart is a high risk! they told me every time i want to shop at Walmart grocery i have to call them to let them know i will be shopping Walmart. so i did call them and told them i would be shopping their and they still froze my account. twice i have gone to my favorite Italian restaurant and both times my card was denied, i was so embarrassed over this and now i cant order dinner from them unless i have cash. i will be pulling all my money

I just started with this bank in April. I thought that a smaller.bank would be more personable and friendly. Not the case here! I had to bring a check back twice to this bank and then sit on a Chair at their bank for 3 hours because they would not deposit it until 4 pm! The reason? Because the manager thought that the 3 looked like a 5 on the date, even though it was obviously a 3! Her FINAL word she states! Even though the check cleared and was obviously good! I told them to put it on hold until it cleared. No good for this manager in Lakewood. They had me there 2 days in a row stating that

I have used Academy Bank for the past 5 years and am closing my account this weekend. They have insecure Online Banking and they have arbitrarily removed my account access at any given time with NO warning. Called to try and have this resolved, was on hold NINE minutes before hanging up and resorting to the chat option. When I chat with a representative, I get receive an attitude.

The most frustrating bank to work with. I had catched the error myself but notification of overdraft by text came 3 days after the fact, if you reset your password it's an act of Congress with ridiculous long words,numbers and symbols. Customer service is only helpful if you catch the right person. I again did a photo check from my other bank to deposit at Academy-it wont credit for 7 days! Last, the two guys working the local branch are so frigging slow , unknowable, confused I walk away frustrated everytime . I have several auto pays and an auto deposit. Because of the hassle to

Do NOT use this bank or their ATM inside the Walmart here. Something goes wrong they will treat you terribly. I made the mistake of using the ATM and it ripped me off for 360 dollars! Went in and talked to the assistant manager. They counted the ATM and despite knowing the count was off they forced me to go through a long 30-40 day dispute process through my debit card. Terrible customer service and a rotten terrible company. It reflects badly on Walmart for allowing them to remain in their building.

Worst customer service in the history of banks. All 11 times I called them it took over 30 minutes to get a person on the phone. The hold youtr money with deposits after it has been verified to go through at your other bank. The lakewood manager should be fired. They lied when opening my account that they had a drop box.

I have a love/hate relationship with this bank. I swore long ago I'd never bank with the big 3 banks again. It was small banks and credit unions for me from then on out. Better rates, MUCH better customer service, and a more personalized experience in general.
