Katie Johnson brings with her over 7 years of Family Law experience as a Paralegal/Legal Assistant from the Twin Cities, MN market. Megan Busch is a licensed attorney in the State of South Dakota and Nebraska and practices Criminal Law. She graduated from the University of South Dakota School of Law and was an active participant in the Student Bar Association and Women-in-Law.
Kelsey Ver Beek is the founding attorney of Ver Beek Law, a South Dakota law practice. Kelsey grew up in a small Iowa town with her three siblings. Before pursuing law, she earned her Bachelor's degree from Morningside College in Sioux City, IA, graduating in three years, with honors. She enrolled in The University of South Dakota School of Law and graduated with the class of 2015.
Kathryn Morrison represents men and women in all facets of family law litigation. She has successfully litigated in the areas of child support, divorce, custody, parenting time and adoption, aiding individuals in the state of South Dakota during their most vulnerable times. She also has years of courtroom experience and has appeared before the South Dakota Supreme Court.
Since day one, Crystal has worked with our team here at Ver Beek Law as our Office Manager and Legal Assistant. An integral part of our operations, Crystal takes care of various responsibilities here at the firm. She greets clients and introduces them to our team, works with clients to understand their situations more thoroughly, and helps them move forward with their cases and schedule meetings.
Being new to South Dakota, Katie brings with her over 7 years of Family Law experience as a Paralegal/Legal Assistant from the Twin Cities, MN market. She is excited to work with the team and clients of Ver Beek Law! Katie grew up in a small Minnesota town. She is currently attending Rasmussen University and will be receiving her bachelor's degree in social services in September.

This was one of the most difficult things I've had to do as a father. Megan made the process very smooth. As you can imagine custody is not an easy go. She was able to reassure me on my stances multiple times all hours of the day. I was very impressed with her knowledge and how smooth the process was. As we worked through our termination of parental rights and adoption hearings, Megan provided the information and help we needed along the way. She was professional and courteous. A huge thing that stuck out to me was at the very end, watching her play Rock-Paper-Scissors with our 5 year old on the steps of the courthouse while waiting our turn to go before the judge. She was so patient with our questions and uneasiness through the entire process. Megan also did a wonderful job at getting documents filed in a quick and timely manner. Kelsey was very professional about everything, the process and possibilities not to mention very patient even when I was not. Was able to put my mind at ease when I had many questions. The process was not very quick (not Kelseys fault) but was very painless. 90% of the work was done via emails and phone calls and the only part I played in was working through the nerves to mosey on down to the courthouse. BEST part of this experience was needing a notary, Ver Beek Law receptionist Crystal McCormick is notarized but failed to unlock the front door when I arrived to sign papers on a chilly morning

I had never been through a custody case, and the whole ordeal was emotionally exhausting.
