We had a wonderful stay booked through Dereka's. Staff was professional and friendly from booking and throughout our stay! The condo at The Reserve was great with a fantastic view. Update 2018 - we have rented with Dereka's the last 3 years in a row up at The Reserve at Sugar Mountain and have ALWAYS had a wonderful experience. The first 2 years were at the same place and this year was a different 2 BR unit. Only issue we had this year was no hair drier in the unit, so I had to run out with wet hair to get one, so make sure you check on items you know you will need. We LOVE Sugar Mountain and especially

The staff was great. The condo was nice and well stocked with a good view of the trees around you. The people around us were very inconsiderate. Couple below us fought. People came in late slamming doors and gates. Car coming in left their lights on shining into the children's bedroom. These issues were out of Dereka's control.

Our condo, 36D, was on the summit and seemed to be the best possible place. A month or so before we received a call and said the gas fireplace was inoperable and they had to replace something due to draft problems. I heard nothing else about it and was told on check-in that it was fine and the fireplace worked as of that mornings check. When we arrived in the room, it was still inoperable, not a deal breaker.
After the first night, we noticed a few irregularities as in MICE. Some of our dried goods(bread, chips, etc.) had the plastic corners chewed off-still not a deal breaker, we put everything

This was our first stay at Briar Cliff. We stayed in F30. The Staff was very friendly but we probably won’t stay in that unit again. It was very clean except for a large stain on the carpet in bedroom and that was the first thing you saw. No WiFi in this unit and no cable in bedroom. There were only a very limited channels on the main TV. Also every time the toilet was flushed in the upstairs unit the water splashed out of our toilet. That was nasty. The bed was way too firm and sunk in the middle. Please replace it!! Layout of unit was very nice. Love the fireplace. Very convenient to restaurants

Pleasantly surprised to have had the opportunity to stay slope side 1 because someone else cancelled while we where confirming our other reservation. The great staff jumped on it and got us the cabin. We are now spoiled for life and will stay slope side from now on. You cannot procrastinate like we do and expect one to be available through…we just got lucky. If you’ve ever wondered like I have, what is the big deal with staying on the slopes, just look at the picture. Awesome accommodations, (wish there was heated floors instead of carpet because you can’t avoid tracking in dirt and muck

The condo was not very clean and very dated. The property manager was probably the most rude person I've ever spoke with, we were trying to unpack and drag suitcases up the stairs and there was a knock on the door , she said the children sounded like wild boars. It was way to crowed and the tubeing and ski slopes were over booked, the resort employees acted rude and as if the had no joy in there jobs.

Actual rating is closer to 3.5 than 3.
I had a (mostly) good experience renting a cabin from Dereka's through vrbo. The unit in question was a condo unit in the Misty Woods property. The view is pretty ordinary, but the apartment itself was very well furnished with kitchen essentials, bath essentials, TVs and even board games. The wifi was pretty good too! All my interactions with the staff were very professional.
The only downside in this unit was the overwhelming stench of cigarette smoke inside the unit. I was under the impression that we were renting non-smoking rooms, There were room fresheners
