McKay's RV & Marine Center is one of Maine's oldest and most experienced dealers. The dealership was originally opened by Cal McKay in the early 1960's on Broadway in Bangor. In the early 1970's, McKay's RV & Marine Center moved to a new, larger facility on the Odlin road in Bangor.
In 1985 the Dalton family purchased McKay's RV & Marine Center and moved it to a brand new, state-of-the-art facility in Holden, just over the Brewer town line on Route 1A.Boat sales and service were added in 1995. Since then, we have continued to expand our offerings and services to our customers, some of whom are the grandchildren of Cal McKay's RV & Marine Center original customers.

Whatever you do, don't take your rv to this business. We called them several weeks before we had an appointment to bring them our motorhome. They said they would be able to fix all our problems. We brought the coach in on our scheduled time and day(Tues) . I hadn't heard back from them by Friday so I called them. On Saturday I received a call from the owner saying they couldn't do any of the repairs. No explanation.

Do not buy anything from here. I bought a brand new $360 rv wastewater toter from here. When i got back to the campsite and opened the box it was split at the seam. I then called them and explained what had happened. Not a drop of wastewater or grey water had been in it. They told me i could not return it. I had to take it up with the manufacture. I never shopped at a place where i could not return an unused item that was broke. They then told me that they had sold one last week and the same thing happened to another person. You would think they would check the remaining inventory and stand behind

Great service! I came at the last minute since we were searching the whole time for one part that no one had lol. Instead of telling me to leave, the guy opened the store back up just to help me out. They only had one model for the item I needed which turned out to be the wrong one. They gladly allowed me to return the item. I will definitely go to them first for any of my RV needs in the future!!

I went and made a deal on a camper and they sent my information to their bank. I also said I would be applying at my bank and took the sellers agreement.
Their bank called and told them I couldn't get the loan because of an error on what they thought my income was.
Without calling me they sold the camper to another customer 4hrs after I left the dealership. And I only found out because I called to tell them I got the loan.
Very frustrating as it was the last model in the state that met our needs,

Friendly service and they made buying a new rv a breeze. The salesman Tom seems like a good guy. It was a bit crazy the day we first showed up looking and rv were flying off the lot. In fact a week later when we went back to pick the new rv up (as they were swamped delivering to customers) there were none left in the larger size we got. Just small ones. Point is they had our rv marked down, I'm assuming BEFORE the crazy buying started, and they still honored the sales price, despite the fact they could've clearly sold it to someone else for more.

I’m a disabled veteran on a very limited (controlled) income. McKays’ service department tried shafting me TWICE for parts; initially wanting to charge me $355 then, after I said I would handle getting the part and resolving the primary issue, tried charging me a second time for the same amount. I’m not “from” the area but believe in shopping local. I found another RV service in Orrington that’s HONEST and straightforward. I don’t have experience in sales but be careful with the service!!

The hot water heater on our motor home was not working so we pulled in here to see if they could help. The owner had the mechanic look at it and he spent about 10 minutes troubleshooting it and it was working when we left. We offered to pay, of course, but they didn’t charge us. We found them to be very helpful and honest which is not always the case when your having problems on the road.
