Celebrated as "the friendliest club around, " the San Joaquin Yacht Club invites members and guests to climb aboard the Sutter, an authentic river barge, for unforgettable social gatherings. Chartered in 1948, the club presently serves a community of over 270 members who enjoy boating in the Bethel Island area.

There are still a few memberships available. Perspective members must be recommended by at least two present members. Please familiarize yourself with the Club Rules on the JOIN tab. SJYC is located in the Heart of the California Delta on Dutch Slough just south of the Bethel Island Bridge on Bethel Island.
Services
1925, the Sutter and her sister ship began their storied histories ferrying supplies throughout the Bay Area. The Sutter delivered to ports in the San Francisco Bay and Delta, while her sister ran a route between Stockton and Delta ports. For years, the Sutter carried up to 750 tons of freight per trip, and earned her keep as a valuable workhorse.
Protecting your boating interests since 1968 as the nonprofit advocacy organization that works to protect and enhance the interests of the state's recreational boaters before state and local government. An organization of chambers of commerce, visitor's bureaus, businesses and associate members in the Sacramento - San Joaquin River Delta.

For a university that claims to be a school for oriental and african studies it teaches barely any african studies courses. i spent most of this last year doing courses in the middle eastern section because i was never told my intended modules were no longer running. not only did they fail to support my ISP (10k dissertation), but when i appealed about a module they still have not responded back to me. all in all, if you want to do african studies youre better off at UoBirm or Durham.

Very good arrangements have been made to meet covid restrictions. Hand sanitisers, signs for the flow of traffic, regular cleaning of spaces, etc. It was rather empty, not too many people were on the campus in the Paul Wembley Wing. There might be more people in the student union shop or library, but generally speaking it was rather quiet. Masks are required at all times on the campus and there's a lot of space for sitting reading etc.

The online master program is decent, but not exceptional. It is mostly reading a bunch of pdf documents and writing some papers. There are no live or recorded lectures. I have, however, had one course “tutor” who was exceptional, and I hope to have him again.
The online administration is horrendous! Every term so many students have difficulty registering for the next course. I have recently registered for my 3rd term and none of the registrations have gone smoothly. For a supposedly world class university, IT (online admin) is unbelievably disappointing.

Nice location lovely place to spend academic time at.
Events free to the public are often part of their events so well worth keeping an eye on.
