Ellen McCarty and Kevin Weinberg opened Walnut Creek Yacht Club in May of 1997 with the mission of bringing the finest and freshest from the sea to Walnut Creek. Why do we call ourselves a yacht club? Because we want to bring the atmosphere of a day on the Bay to landlocked Walnut Creek. We want our guests to feel comfortable, relaxed, and welcomed.
All of our guests are instantly members of the Club! No sponsorship required, you are already a member. But don't forget to join our Loyalty Program, become a card carrying member, and start collecting points and awards. Our decor includes many beautiful, nautical touches: teak, mahogany, stainless steel, and even an authentic jib which was a gift to Kevin from the America's Cup Defender, Alinghi.

My wife and I came here for lunch in order to try their crab and lobster sandwiches. We were correctly asked for our vaccination cards and were then seated at a small plain table that just barely accommodated two adults. Our waiter arrived promptly and we ordered the aforementioned sandwiches, and a bowl of clam chowder to share, along with an ice tea and a beer. The clam chowder ($12) arrived in around 5' and had nice texture and flavor though the cut up pieces of larger clams used were rather lacking in quantity, so rating about a B-. The crab sandwich ($22) , which also came with a large

I am so happy we were able to dine in for lobster fest. Missed it last year. We have been coming to the Yacht club for the lobster for years. The price of the dinner used to be the year (2019 was $20.19). This year it is $34 but still a good price.
The service was good. Our waiter was prompt. Dishes were cleared quickly.
We started with salads. My husband had a wedge salad which he was happy with. I spilt a chopped salad with my daughter. It was disappointing. The dressing lacked flavor and the butternut squash was hard and undercooked. The red onion was very sharp and should have

We had a girls lunch today and everything was really good! The staff was incredibly nice, especially the bartender Raymond. I'm pretty sure that was his name. The drinks were really good & so was the food. For the appetizers we had raw oysters, fried calamari, & crab cakes. For my main meal I had the swordfish & fries. It was good but I think I would try something different in the future. I'm excited to come back.

Review for 2 people for Monday night dinner in Nov 2021:
- they check covid vaccination cards to sit inside
- very nice people, but might be short staffed on waitstaff when we went. We weren't in a hurry so it was no biggie.
- oysters were super fresh! 5/5 stars!
- forgot the name but it was like a paella and cioppino mixture entree. Super delicious.
- it was my birthday and they gave us a free crème brûlée. Very well done dessert!
- very casual atmosphere inside, so will take my 4 year old daughter here next time.

Haven't been to this spot in awhile but I do remember it definitely did not disappoint!
My man & I ordered a bunch of dishes I can't even remember what I enjoyed the most. But calamari & Mac are always some of our go tos.
The waitress was nice enough to let me try a few wines until I found what I was looking for!
Can't wait to come back & try other things on the menu!

Very reasonable price, good service! The Restaurant located right in a nice area with many restaurants and bars, parking is just around the corner. The food is just ok, nothing outstanding. One thing I don’t like is it’s salty. The Spanish stew with rice, the seafood became dry because overcooked, the sauce is too salty for my taste. Oysters were very fresh, coming from different regions, very interesting. Clam chowder is excellent. Also highly recommend cream brûlée, so delicious.

Seafood lovers, this place is for you.
Tonight we finally decided to give the Walnut Creek Yacht Club a try. There was no wait to sit outside on a chilly Saturday night. We had our pup with us as well. The staff is just lovely. Very friendly, showed lots of love to our pup, very attentive, and gave great recommendations.
The food: tonight we ordered the Maine Lobster Mac & Cheese Gratin, the WCYC Fish 'n' Chips, the Pink Hopper Prawns, and the Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake. We started with the lobster mac & cheese and it was delicious (9.5/10). It's not your typical mac n

For years I heard about how good this establishment was and I have to say that expectation was surpassed. Granted you’re gonna pay a hefty price but it was worth it. It’s amazing how fresh everything was, quick service that was very friendly, and excellent drink options too. Their oysters are just too good to pass up. I do recommend the reservation and save yourself the hassle. Also if possible just take a Lyft since parking is a mess on the street.

I remember eating here years ago and loving it. So when I brought my friend for her birthday, I was very excited to eat here again.
We started with a cup of clam chowder which was decent but didn't wow me. A good amount of clams.
The fried calamari dish was different as it was cooked with onions. Onions??? It would've been fine but the batter on the calamari was mushy. We felt the onions made them mushy.
The fish and chips dish was plentiful. A ton of french fries which were good and a good deep fried fish. Maybe the calamari was still bothering me but I wasn't wowed by this

I made reservations to have my husband's birthday dinner here and we came in for an early seating. I was happy to not that his name and birthday were mentioned on our menus!
Our waiter, John was very courteous and assisted us in all of the steps of our meal, from our drinks, to our various appetizers, and final courses. Even our busser, Robinson kept our water glasses full and made sure our table was always cleared of clutter.
We paced ourselves over a leisurely dinner and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The oysters were very fresh and sweet, the crab cakes cooked crisp and lite, the clams

Everyone who has a reason to celebrate life in general should come here.
The service was fast and friendly.
Even the hostesses were awesome and got us in without a reservation. They were prompt and unpretentious.
They have outdoor and indoor dining.
I'm super picky about crab melts in general but decided to role the dice on their crab and bacon melt. OMG this fresh crab melt without any fillers like stupid breadcrumbs or other weighty things was super delicious. The bread was grilled perfectly and the bacon was not very fatty.
The tuna fish sandwich is made with fresh fish that they

One of the best restaurants in Walnut Creek.
Kevin makes a fantastic soup. Whether you go traditional clam chowder, the Indian inspired pepper pot, or the new black bean smoked beef ancho Mole you can't go wrong!
If you like fish, this is the spot to go in the East Bay. The scallops are one of my favorite dishes they have.
The help is knowledgeable and prompt.
The bar has everything you want in terms of wine and spirits with a solid beer selection too.
Thank you Walnut Creek Yacht Club for your consistent delicious meals!
