Services
Dr. Bob Stephenson was born and raised in Eugene, Oregon. He graduated from South Eugene High school and began his undergraduate studies at Lewis and Clark College. Dr. Stephenson received his degrees in 1983 from Oregon State University. He received his dental training at Georgetown University and has been practicing in the Eugene area since graduating and receiving his license from the Oregon Board of Dentistry in 1987.

Our office has been designed with the newest conveniences and comforts of home to accommodate a variety of needs. Our reception area is stocked with coffee, specialty teas, cider, hot chocolate and bottled water.
Professional dental cleanings are an important part of a program to prevent gum disease and help you keep your teeth for a lifetime. We only take x-rays when necessary and we use the latest technology with digital x-rays to minimize radiation exposure. Sealants protect the vulnerable areas by sealing out plaque and food and acting as a barrier to prevent cavities.

The best way to prevent periodontal disease is to have professional cleanings on a regular basis and to practice good oral hygiene with daily brushing and flossing techniques that are recommended by Dr. Stephenson and your hygienist.
Periodontal disease ("gum" disease) is an infection and inflammation of the tissues and bone that hold teeth in place. If left untreated, periodontal disease can quickly progress and possibly lead to permanent damage and tooth loss. Treating gum disease in the early stages can help prevent tooth loss.

I asked for a composite filling on one tooth and for a gap to be fixed between two other teeth. I was quoted for a composite (tooth colored) filling on the tooth that needed a filling, however, during my visit, I received an amalgam (silver) filling. This came as a surprise to me when I got home and looked at the fillings. Not once during the appointment, that I was awake and fully alert for, was I notified of this change or asked for my approval of it. I consulted with another dentist and it was determined that the amalgam filling as not necessary and a different method could have been used, which

Dr. Stephens is great with my 13 year old daughter. He is very patient, friendly, thoroughly answers and explains all questions and procedures. He takes his time to ask questions and listens carefully to areas of concern. Both my daughter and I felt very welcomed by him and his staff. They are all so nice!

There are so many reasons why I love this dentist! I'd been going to Gentle Dental for a while and they constantly overcharged me for services. Every time I'd get something done by them, I'd receive a check a couple weeks later for the amount they over charged me. At this office, there has never been any type of issue like that. No issues with overcharging or insurance errors, nothing. Everyone is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They completed my paperwork for the Peace Corps without any issues. I've been coming here for almost 2 years now and I've gotten my whole family to join as well!

I've been getting my teeth cleaned here for about a year and I really like this place. The employees really know what they're doing and they are experts at cleaning my teeth and giving me good feedback on what I need to do differently. I feel they are priced about right and the dentist is extremely friendly and nice. I enjoy having a TV to watch my favorite show while I'm getting my teeth cleaned! Even if I move to another town 50 miles away I would still want to come here to get my teeth taken care of.
