I am so glad you found me! It can be difficult to find someone who truly is a specialist with OCD and other anxiety related disorders. I provide sessions tailored for the individual. We will go through the evidenced based treatment that is needed for you. If you suffer from OCD we're going to be using exposure and response prevention (ERP).

For Tics or Tourette's we will use the comprehensive treatment for tics (CBIT). For hair pulling or skin picking we will be using the comprehensive behavioral treatment model (ComB). With the various anxiety related disorders such as social anxiety, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and hoarding the treatment will be customized specifically for you.
Services
My work experience was gained working over a 12 year span at outpatient mental health clinics, non-profit agencies, inpatient clinics/hospitals, schools, institutes and through a private practice. I helped open an OCD treatment center in Utah. Most therapists want to talk about issues instead of actually do the work to help you recover.
While you're on my waiting list, you're welcome to see the tips I have for OCD and anxiety on my YouTube channel. Some choose to purchase my online course to get a head start with learning the treatment. This is located below. Unfortunately, I am unable to make an exception as it wouldn't be fair for those currently waiting on my list.
Backdoor spikes are a response to your recovery and success. Those who are recovered with anxiety all of a sudden feel a SPIKE of anxiety that came out NO WHERE. Imagine your child waking up one morning and they seem completely different. Not a gradual change but an immediate change.

Their language may be different, the way they are talking can be different, they are mentioning fears they've never mentioned before, their choosing not to eat, they are raging with anger, their anxiety is out of control, they may be doing a lot of tics. They may even have some psychotic symptoms such as seeing or hearing things.
Your therapist is required to keep everything you say confidential. When you use insurance to pay for therapy, your therapist is required to provide your diagnosis and possibly treatment notes to your insurance company in order to get paid. This undermines the basic premise of therapy and also gives a lot more people access to private health information about you.
This self-rating scale is designed to assess the severity and type of symptoms in patients with OCD. Before you begin the test, read the following definitions and examples of "obsessions " and "compulsions." They may seem to occur against your will. They may be repugnant to you, are often senseless, and may not fit your actual personality at all (for example, the recurrent thought or impulse to harm to your children, even though you never would).

Nate is a colleague of mine who is one of the few specialists in OCD and also BFRB's in children 8 + and adults. He is friendly, has a calm, welcoming demeanor, and he is very knowledgeable. I love how he stays humble in treatment considerations while confident in his excellent training and expertise.

Nathan Peterson is an expert therapist that provides a very peaceful environment in which problems can be discussed and solutions can be found. He is extremely nonjudgmental and kind, and he is also extremely professional and good at what he does. He was able to help my teenage daughter with some very difficult things related to OCD and anxiety. I was unsure of how things would go, and if he would even be able to help her -- but he did much more than just help her. He worked with her so that she could find ways to help herself. He is kind and caring and very easy to talk to. My daughter always

Nathan was great for someone like me who didn't really know where to start with my struggles. He provides a very low pressure environment for you to learn about the skills you need to improve and practice outside of the sessions. He also is also very encouraging for any efforts put in, regardless of actual success since that can be hard. Overall a very positive experience :)

In the darkest summer of my son’s life and the darkest summer of my life... Nate was our only hope. I lost my son overnight and I tried everything to get him back... everything that I could think of to help him. We had never ending doctors appointments, blood work, cheek swabs, medications, supplements, and I spent hours/days researching on the internet. When we didn’t have answers and when nothing else seemed to be working... we kept our faith in the therapy. Nate was that bright light that kept us moving forward. He is always organized and ready with something creative to help my boy. He

Nate really is the best of the best.
With some of the ocd and anxiety problems I face - like most people with ocd - it can feel strange talking about things with other people. But I feel comfortable talking about anything with Nate. He's kind and nonjudgemental, and there's always a peaceful feeling in his office that I very much appreciate.
He tells me what I need to hear, but he does so by gently letting me know what he observes, or just helping me figure it out myself.
Nate is someone you can confide in, laugh with, and take experienced counsel from... an expert therapist and a wonderful

My son (8) had the best experience in working with Nate on his anxiety and tics. Nate was kind, encouraging and authentic during all of our sessions. He gave my son practical tools to help work through his anxiety/tics instead of avoiding them or building up anger. We highly recommend Nate's services!
