Mission: To enable any person; without any discrimination of caste, creed, color, race, religion, nationality, economic, orientation, educational and social status; to learn the classical, contemporary and folk dances and performing arts of India and participate freely and fully without any reservations in the celebrations of life and diversity through the universal language of dance and music.
Our vision is to create a community that embraces diversity, individuality and harmony among people of diverse cultural, educational and financial backgrounds. I used to daydream about becoming a dancer or playing Taiko drums, and then would think, "I'm too old to learn that" but I was wrong!

From humble beginnings in a basement with three students, Mudra started in 1993, growing to 100+ students today. The studio became a non-profit in 2001. Mudra celebrates East Indian cultural diversity using the medium of dance and music. Our students learn the beautiful rhythmic movement of the North Indian classical dance "Kathak" (dancing a story) with folk and modern elements.
Due to the global pandemic, we have been fortunate enough to offer 3 styles of classes: all in person, hybrid, and online only. Online classes are available for every class. Students who are online only, hybrid, or have had any symptoms or potential exposure in the past 14 days will use a GoogleMeet link for class, which we send out via email.
Our performing group performs all around Colorado, extending to other states and countries as well. We are available for hire for dance performances, cultural events, private, and public, in schools, outdoor, you name it, we do it! Our biggest passion is working with children. And we do refrain from performances in support of any one particular political or religious view.

My first introduction to Mudra was as an audience member for an annual UTSAV performance, and I was blown away by their creativity, passion, dedication, and talent. My daughter and I started dancing with them and are still repeatedly awed by them. Mudra is made up of exceptional human beings, lead by the fearless guru Namitia. Whether you want to dance with them or just watch them, your time will be more than well spent with Mudra!
