Palaestra Gymnastics Academy was founded by Kathy Needham in 1980. We take our name from the Greek word Palaestrum, some of the first training grounds for the Olympic games - and we believe in the same generations-old holistic practices that these original Olympians trusted. Palaestra Gymnastics Academy preschool program is taught through movement education.
This program provides a foundation for future sports, whether your child becomes a gymnast or not. Palaestra Gymnastics program is a proven system that develops listening skills, self-esteem, physical strength, coordination, agility, and most of all, an "I can" attitude. Children learn the concept of basic gymnastic skills.

Hi PGA, Just wanted to send over a quick thank you! This gym is fantastic. My seven year old has been in her class for awhile now and Coach Steve does so well with her. He pays close attention to each gymnast regardless of their skill level and the kids learn social skills as well. We are happy to call Palaestra our gym and cannot wait to watch our daughter grow as a gymnast.
Established since 1980 the name Palaestra originated from the Greek work palaestrium. Palaestriums were the training grounds for the olympic games many years ago. Like the Greeks, Palaestra Gymnastics Academy too, believes in a wholistic approach to training, mind, and body. Palaestra Gymnastics Academy offers USAG Competitive teams, level's 3 through 10, as well as the Xcel Program.

I honestly couldn't have found a better gym for my daughter. The coaches are a beautiful mix of sweet and demanding, supportive and encouraging excellence. The gym itself is clean and well maintained with a safety first philosophy.
In the time my daughter has been on team I have seen such amazing growth, personal and physical.
