We stayed one night at Stowe Motel with our dog while visiting Stowe. Staff were friendly at check in and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy, but spacious and clean. The location is convenient to restaurants, breweries and shopping in Stowe and short drive to trails and parks. Overall, a nice stay and we would stay here again if visiting the area, especially with a dog.

I found evidence that I was sleeping in dirty sheets that had not been changed before our arrival. There was a bloody tissue between the sheets, which I found after I had slept in the bed for several nights. It looked like someone had cut themselves and blotted it with a tissue. Sleeping in someone else's dirty sheets--especially during COVID--is a serious breach of trust. I was upset, and when I brought the tissue to show the owner his response was, "We're short-staffed." No apology.

You need to remember that this is a motel- it looks like one, it smells like one, and the people around you- they are motel people. As we stayed in September, things closed early and it was dark early, so we got to spend a lot of time in the room in the evening. The motel's staff were nice and they offer free DVDs to watch, but I have to be honest- if I knew that I would spend so much time in the room- I would choose a nicer place.
For a motel though- it is clean, has nice staff, and is at a great location.

Check in is 4 PM, we got to our room at 5 PM and the door was still wide open and was just beginning to be cleaned. No mention of no breakfast available until after you book and pay. Probably a decent deal for some but for $180/night over Labor Day weekend this place was still way overpriced. Good location and if you’re fine with old and outdated rooms then this would be a good option. I’d imagine the deluxe rooms and other options are much better than the basic queen room we stayed in!

The staff is very friendly, the hotel is a good size, location is perfect! On sundays the grass turns into a farmers market which is awesome! Breakfast was closed when we stayed cause of Covid but pool was open. Lots of room on property to roam and explore . Would definitely come back here again if we were ever in the area.

We've stayed here a few times for skiing and the leaf peepers half marathon. The location is fantastic and definitely the selling point. Close enough to Waterbury (Pro Pig!) and the mountain. Really great property with outdoor hot tub, bikes to rent and right off the recreation trail for hiking, biking and walking. Simple breakfast in the AM, reasonable accommodations and very lovely staff.
We look forward to post marathon beers in the hot tub, looking up at the starry sky every year.

The Snowdrift Motel is a secret treasure! Located about 5 to 7 minutes from the downtown, the Snowdrift is quite a bang for your buck. The internet lists this place with 2-star accommodations. But I beg to differ!
When I stayed at the Snowdrift this January, I had: a very comfortable/clean room, lots of blankets/towels, an effective heater/thermostat, a TV with an extensive selection of channels and a VERY friendly staff. The Snowdrift also offers a free DVD library, snowshoes you can take out and a small outdoor hot tub (which I did not use).
As for motel's internet network, my service

Arrived later than planned due to bad weather. Was worried at first that the office closed at 10:30 but then noticed the sign with their late night self check in system which was easy and worked perfectly. Room was very clean, tons of towels and extra blankets and pillows inside. Will def stay again next time we are passing through.

Nicest motel I have ever stayed in. Nicest customer service I've ever had. Small but tasty continental breakfast with some local gems. Bikes for rent, tennis court, pool and a great review. Highly recommended and will stay again if in the area, recommend over the lodges. Great location! Center of Stowe!

We stayed at this motel for MLK weekend and had a great stay. The room was very clean and the bathtub looked brand new. Water pressure and temperature were perfect for après ski sore muscles and the front desk attendant was friendly and helpful. Only con would be that some of my towels had a few stains but nothing I couldn't have had replaced. Will definitely come back.

Good, basic hotel. Great location. Right on the bike path and walking distance to several restaurants and the Alchemist. Has two pools. Didn't use either.
They have bikes you can borrow, which is a nice touch.
My room was pretty small but I knew it would be as it was one of the cheaper options. Adequate for sure.
I would recommend.

I was not happy with staying at the Stowe Motel when I stayed there on my vacation to Vermont. The lady at the office was rude and offered pour service. The motel room was very basic. Also the continental breakfast was bad and there only was cereal, toast, and coffee. They also tried forcing you to stay at least 3 days so if you wanted to go somewhere else you would have to lie that there was a family emergency. But they did have a nice bike trail and pool. After staying a few days we left and stayed at the Trapp Family Lodge.

Best 2-star hotel I've ever stayed in, definitely exceeding my expectations! The room was spotless and the bed super comfy, and the front desk staff just great - they even let us check in 2 hrs early. We didn't have time to scope out the DVD library but that's a really thoughtful perk.
Worst part about the whole place: 3/6 light bulbs in our room were burned out and the blinds didn't do much blocking of the morning sun. All in all though not nearly enough to detract from the overall joy of saving $200 by not staying in the fancier hotel we were considering while still having

I can't express how much I enjoy my stays at the Stowe motel. Although it's not the most updated hotel it's offers great amenities and its location can't be beat! Overall the staff is absolutely amazing! Michelle was more than understanding and accommodating when my family wished to rent a home this past February. She was also very responsive when we lost an item. Hand down one of the reason I keep coming back to this beautiful place. Love being able to walk to Picasso and take a stroll through by the river. Just a short to drive to the mountain. I will be coming back to share

Personally, I love this place! We have stayed here three times during the month of Dec. and once in March. and always paid less than $100 per night. The grounds are spacious and well maintained, there is always parking available, the staff is pleasant and helpful, they have a nice DVD selection and free treats and tea/coffee/hot chocolate in the lobby, there is ping pong and fooseball (I have no idea how to spell that), you can use the snowshoes without charge, and breakfast is ample. It isn't a hot breakfast, mind you, but there is yogurt, oatmeal, an array of cereal, loads of bread options

Yuck. Stayed here 10/14.
First the PROS: grounds are beautiful with lovely pool, tennis court, bicycles, walking paths, lush lawns and trees. Room was clean but old and windows opened to let in fresh air. Fridge in room was nice but it was noisy. Toiletries were fine.
CONS: old, dingy, depressing room. Only 1 useable outlet to charge phones (second outlet in bathroom but who wants to charge a phone in a humid environment?). Ratty, noisy bathroom fan. Very squeaky bathroom door (tough to use at night without waking others). Sheets were clean I think but rough and felt cheap. Icky velour 'blanket

Last time I stayed here it was April 1980. It was nice to stay there back then. Just went back again last week. Had a wonderful stay. The room was great and the fireplace just added to the autumn leaf experience. The staff were wonderful and friendly as before. I'll be back again and won't wait so long.

I love this place. Been going here for 4 years and the staff is always pleasant. The rooms are clean and the beds are as comfortable as a motel bed can be. I find the rooms to be modern and quiet, especially when compared to others in this price class. Recently we had a problem with our room smelling like smoke because of people next door. All the rooms are non-smoking. I politely complained and the staff went out of their way to make sure they got us satisfactory accommodations, even upgrading us. They only seemed concerned that we were happy and checked in on us by calling us and again

Stayed here for about $100/night during peak ski season, so the cost is hard to beat. Basic room was very clean and spacious and the front desk staff are amazingly friendly and knowledgable. I did wake up a couple of times due to snow plows going down the road, but when you're on a ski vacation that's a good thing!

This is an older motel, spread out in multiple buildings. It's well maintained. Nice, grounds, west of the downtown area. Pool, breakfast room, free bikes for your use, wifi.
The best thing going though is the staff. They were helpful and friendly and had several suggestions for restaurants and places to see.

Let's just say it's not fancy; the experience is essentially like being a house guest. The rooms are extremely unpretentious and the layout of the whole place is a little bit inconvenient; several of the blocks of rooms are only accessible by going back out onto the road from the main office and driving in again, which gets a bit irritating since Mountain Road is filled with yuppie families in Subarus that have been blinged out with the latest Vermont bumper stickers and Thule ski racks.
But then there's the good side, and in the case of the Stowe Motel, I think the good outweighs
