Last I checked, at least one in five U.S. adults, and many children, are taking a prescription psychiatric medication such as Prozac or Zoloft for a mental health issue. Why? Because to live within this world of hyper-individualism has proven to be a failed social experiment. This is why part of us forever feels we are Not OK, defective, and/or lack something.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) are therapies that treat anxiety, depression, phobias, and a variety of other mental health problems related to past trauma. Instead of traditional talk therapy, ART and EMDR resolve distressing issues through visualization paired with eye movements.
We all know the benefits of exercise: decreased stress, anxiety, and depression; improved mood and sleep; and decreased feelings of loneliness and isolation. As such, it makes sense to pair this with talk therapy as a natural way to work through stressors in our lives. Movement therapy is an innovative way to process psychological experiences by incorporating aspects of talk therapy through bodily movement.

Zen therapy is the combining of Eastern meditation practice with self-analysis, Game analysis and Script analysis. The method of Zen therapy is based on a teacher-student relationship.

Tech platforms are using artificial intelligence (i.e., computer algorithms) to extract our behavioral data in order to reflexively predict what we will want based on what we wanted in the past.

One of my concerns going into therapy was that I did not enough mental and emotional energy to maintain my current roles of wife, Mom, caregiver, educator, etc. Part of my treatment plan was to implement a yoga practice (my choice) and a meditation practice (therapist prescribed). After ending the therapy relationship I am continuing to practice both in order to maintain my mental and emotional health. These practices have enabled me interact calmly and authentically with other people during a big life change. My sessions with Andrew allowed me to realize that taking time to take care of myself

Some of the most calm & caring people I've ever met work at Minnesota Mental Health Services. They are aware of the (new) world we are raising our kids in and are eager to help lift the weight that life can put heavy on us/them. I love that they have a huge pool of knowledge and life experiences among the staff members to serve a variety of needs. I remember years ago my one of my best friends told me, "everyone needs someone in their life to talk to." When I hear her voice I think of Andrew and his staff.

Cannot recommend enough. Elizabeth has radically changed the state of my mental health in such a short amount of time. She is so flexible in whatever works best for you. She offers so many different suggestions of different strategies to try. I’ve been doing some ART therapy, something I never even knew existed before, that has changed my life. But some times we just have sessions of talking things out as well. Her office is very homey and welcoming. I look forward every week to our meetings. Thank you Elizabeth!

There is a sense of comfort that comes from talking with Andrew. It gives you a feeling that almost forces you to open up and talk about what truly needs to be talked about to become healthier. His knowledge is easily identifiable and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else. The office plays right along with the feeling of comfort and makes it as though you are visiting him in his home opposed to the typical office setting.

As an educator, Andrew has a unique ability to provide a comprehensive overview of various mental health topics while challenging the learner to critically examine existing theories and practices. Andrew’s dedication to his work is palpable and he is continuously researching innovative approaches to best serve his clients and students. Andrew is a great teacher and clinician. He has a wide range of tools available to him, and he has closely considered their impacts, limitations, and strengths.
