Thank you for expressing an interest in NYC. From its inception in 1894, the Newport Yacht Club has been heavily involved in yachting on Narragansett Bay and the surrounding area.
The members support sail training for area youth and adults, power and sail cruises, PHRF and one design racing, seamanship courses taught by the US Power Squadron, and also provide a friendly Club house and marina for members and visiting yachtsmen from around the world.Membership in NYC requires the sponsorship of Club members.

In all Clubs there are members who selflessly give of their time and energy to others without any expectation of reward. These members are the outlet achievers who stay out of the limelight but are always the first to volunteer for any project, event, or just simply add to the Club by being a member.

We are excited to announce Summer 2021! We are hopeful looking forward to warm summer days and smiles on the water is just what will clear the winter blues! We are even more excited to announce we will be adding two new boats to our fleet as well! Many of our staff are planning to return and our scholarships will continue to provide opportunities and access to the water for some of our local families.
Looking for a fun ways to get out on the water in Newport RI? Newport Yacht Club offers a free Discover Sail Racing Experience as part of the Wednesday night Regatta Series. If you are interested please reach out to the Dockmaster to schedule the use of our club vessels.
For the season race participants will assist the Race Committee with running one evening's races in a given season, encouraging the exchange of ideas, learning and of course, fun!Every Tuesday night and Wednesday night one member from a given boat will assist the Race Committee. The boat providing assistance will be awarded Average Points for the series that they participate in, replacing their worst score, if the boat does not race.

I was hoping to leave no stars but unfortunately thats not an option. Extremely rude. I was treated like a peasant despite being a PAYING GUEST. Booked a slip as a guest for the long weekend and was constantly asked if i was member. I was prohibited from using the parking lot even at night when it was nearly empty. The shower facilities were closed and we were not informed of that before booking and the price did not reflect this huge missing aspect of the marina. Basically we were just confined to our boat which was fine but the manager made us feel super unwelcome. Won't be back.
