Really poor customer service! I contacted this company in July letting them know my project would start in October. I picked out the railing and sent pictures of everything. I heard nothing back from them. When I reached out to them in early November they told me I had to sign a contract and put a deposit down to get on the schedule. Not a problem but then they told me the next opening is in the spring! I asked why didn't they tell me this last July?! They had no excuse and offered no help in starting my project this year. I let them know I can't support companies with such horrible

Smart, creative team that does high quality work. Todd worked with us to come up a design that checked the boxes for the multiple, and sometimes contradictory, functions we wanted - e.g., block/preserve views -- and ones we weren't sure about -- e.g., hooks for sails to block sun/rain.
Highly recommend, but get on their calendar early - worth waiting for!

These guys are phenomenal. Amazing customer service and beautiful custom railings. I had several bids and was on a tight budget. This wasn't an optional project - I had to get railings on a set of new concrete stairs to meet code (the old concrete stairs were cracked, failing, no railing - scary/dangerous). Blackbird Iron & Design gave me suggestions about how we could get creative on the fabrication and pricing, were honest about where we couldn't change the price, and we were able to make it work. While they were waiting for the railings to set, the installation crew even ran to the hardware

Exceptional company with dedicated, responsive, detail-oriented, customer service emphasis. Can't say enough positive words about our interaction with Blackbird's personnel nor their final work. We had placed requests with several companies, finally choosing Blackbird. Although busy with many orders, they dedicated time to listen to our situation, offer recommendations, and follow through with changes we made until the recent installation of two separate handrail placements.

Needed a railing for stairs following a serpentine course up from the sidewalk to our home that we are putting on the market. Naturally, we wanted a quality solution that would make a positive first impression on prospective buyers without being a "you'll never get back what you put into that" addition. I looked at any number of prefabricated railings - none of them matched the 1920s style of the house and, anyway, would have been an awkward fit to the winding path. Todd and his crew were excellent to work with and built us a gorgeous custom front railing for our stairs along with a custom fence and gate for an egressed doorway leading from our basement into our backyard. They were professional, thoughtful, thorough, and kind. Todd was conscious about creating a cost-effective solution for our needs and was also willing to iterate on the designs based on my input. We are exceedingly happy with the work Todd and his helpers did for us. They built and designed a "simple" hand rail to match the existing iron railings around our house. Todd's attention to detail was impressive and he took the time needed to make sure the work was aligned and straight (much harder than one would think). He is a true craftsman and I recommend his company without reservation.

I got four bids for my front step handrails and Blackbird was the first to respond, created the perfect design and had the most competitive bid. I watched Todd and Tanner install the handrails and it's obvious they take pride in their craft. Plus, they're nice guys. Delighted to write such a positive review and have no reservations recommending Blackbird to others.
