I appreciate you taking the time to learn more about my psychotherapy practice. I hope that in exploring this site you will get an idea of how I approach the processes of healing and growth. Decades of research have shown that therapy is generally effective in addressing a wide range of issues. One of the perspectives I hold is that therapy presents an opportunity beyond resolving problems.
Something remarkable tends to happen when, in our search for solutions, we turn toward ourselves with a sense of curiosity and attention. This inward turn coupled with the use of mindfulness can initiate a profound journey of self-discovery or deepen one that is already underway. This journey is different for everyone, but a common feature is a move toward a new, often unexpected, sense of wholeness and well-being.

The most important thing you can know about me is that I am a fellow traveler. I am a human being who has endeavored to engage deeply in his own life. I have experienced my own tender lows as well as some ecstatic highs. I have navigated through painful loss and have enjoyed profound love. I know the feelings of emptiness, confusion, and doubt and also of wholeness, clarity, and conviction.
I offer standard 50-55 minute sessions or extended 75 minute sessions for those who prefer more time. Please contact me for current rates. I do not participate in any health insurance plans and will not bill insurance directly. However, if you would like to use your insurance for psychotherapy, I will be happy to prepare a monthly statement for you that you can submit to your insurance company.
My approach to therapy draws from a number of therapeutic models including some that are not typically considered "mindfulness-based." Rather than hold allegiance to any particular style of therapy, my interest is in adapting to the individual needs and preferences of my clients. That being said, mindfulness is a core thread that runs through most of my approach.
If you would like to further explore the possibility of working together, the first thing to do is to give me a call. I will welcome the opportunity to answer any questions you might have. Also, I'd like to get a general idea of the concerns and/or goals that are prompting you to consider therapy. I'll want to make sure there is a match between your needs and my skills and experience.
