You certainly don't have to do business in Utah to take advantage of our great pricing on non-ferrous materials! In fact- because Salt Lake City is a centralized distribution hub, commercial and industrial customers from all across the nation choose us for all their large lot non-ferrous metal recycling needs.
Metal recycling is a process whereby materials which can no longer be used for their original purpose are collected and sent where they can be transformed into something usable again. When you recycle your unwanted non-ferrous metals at UMW, you will not only put cash in your pocket: you will also be doing your part to help the environment.
For 55 years, Utah Metal Works and our employees have been making a real difference in the lives of the community members we serve. Because we care about Salt Lake City and Salt Lake City has been good to us, we provide support for our city and state in a variety of different ways. Quick, convenient and competitive in their prices paid for scrap metal, Utah Metal Works provides a conveniently accessible place to dump your metal junk in the center of the Salt Lake Valley. Located just East Of the I 15 freeway on 3300 south, a large drive on scale quickly allows the credit office to weigh your load. For steel removal, they handily have a large magnetic crane to unload a trailer of scrap quickly onto a huge pile at the back. For more valuable metals one is directed to a specific unloading area. Once emptied, the load is re-weighed and a check or cash is issued based on

Utah metals works is among the few remaining recyclers in the downtown area.
This is a great business with great people, from the men on the scales in the back to the front office staff to the family that sees that everything runs smoothly.
The prices offered are very competitive and the whole transaction is transparent and above board.
If you're just cleaning up or have a small side gig, this is the place to turn your scrape surplus metal into some quick cash.

Wow just took like 6 bags of aluminum cans and it was a freaking mess! Nobody was around to help us weigh out the cans there were lines of cars. They must have been busy.. But they were no where in sight I couldn't find anyone. So we unfortunately missed out on some cash, come here if you you have a lot of extra time on your hands. Don't come if you don't

The service was nice the staff were very helpful. I come with a truck load thinking I'm going bank in. Unfortunately it was all steel. They only pay a penny per pound . I had 300 pounds and $2.80 later.

Great service and very friendly. The traffic is crazy, but they're busy for a reason. They're the best. Great help to unload metal and they even gave me ear plugs while unloading from the heavy machinery. The best in Utah by far.

I found out about this place through Google, I had a few cans to drop off for some extra change and they were great! The staff is super accommodating and friendly. Plus, their place is located in this super cool industrial space with scrap metal and the like.

Got a little extra pocket change and enjoyed my experience there.
