The Cleveland Fence Company Inc. of Stoneham Massachusetts has been a Stoneham icon for the past forty years. In 1974, Skip Cleveland, owner of the Skip Cleveland Fence Company, began installing fences as a sub-contractor for the Montvale Fence Company located at 47 Montvale Ave. In 1980, with an expanding client roster, he founded the Cleveland Fence Company Inc. located on a small lot at 319 Main Street.
In 1983 Skip purchased the Montvale Fence Company, and the Cleveland Fence Company Inc. moved to its new and current location on 47 Montvale Ave. There have been many changes in the fence industry since 1974 when materials were limited to cedar stockade, board, and chain link. Decorative aluminum and PVC fences commonly used today came many years later.

We absolutely LOVED working with Cleveland Fence. We had a plan to fence in our entire backyard, so we called a few fencing companies to get quotes. Cleveland was right in line with the others, and we got really good vibes from Jonathan. He was super responsive and an absolute pleasure to plan with. Our whole fence was installed by one guy who did a STELLAR job. It was a LOT of work (we have a pretty good sized yard) and his attention to detail and quality of work was really amazing. We have a perfect fence, even better than we imagined. Will recommend 11 times out of 10.

I've been having fences installed by this company for as long as I've known this company THE OWNERS are hands on, if there is a shortage of wood materials you can't blame the fence company.

Cleveland Fence Installed our new cedar fence this year. We are not satisfied with both quality of wood on the fence and installation timeframe. Fence surface is very rough and almost unfinished (not sanded), nothing like the samples at the main office. Also the promised timeline initially was 6 weeks; and it ended up being 11 weeks to installation.

Making the appointment was painless. They called me right back and had me scheduled within 2 weeks. Early January is when I had my fence installed. I was afraid the ground would be frozen but they assured me they could do it....and they did.
Installation went smoothly. 1 single worker arrived...on time. He did a great job, cleaned up after himself and was very polite.
I will use them in the future. Next time I wont bother to get a second quote.

Cleveland installed a good looking fence without incident several years ago. Last year, one of the gates had "shifted", probably due to the winter weather. They gave a $525 quote to fix, which I thought excessive, so I planed the edge to get the gate to close.
This past winter the gate shifted more so it would not close. I called and asked if they would honor their previous quote. They indicated they had to look again. To make it easier for them, I said no appointment necessary to inspect. A month and three calls later, they still had not updated or confirmed their quote. A week

In Spring '13 I engaged Cleveland Fence to quote for a small area of fencing (about 40 sq f) that I needed to close in my yard. The prior owners of our house had used Cleveland the previous year - we liked the fence and it seemed to be constructed well so it made sense to go with Cleveland again.
They were courteous on the phone and they arrived on time to measure up, however I never received a quote. I followed up with an email and phone call (where I was advised they will look into it and call me back) but I still received nothing.
