I went to Studio Chique (Ngina) after not having my hair professionally straightened for a little over 2 years. She gave me an organic keratin treatment and the service was so professional and my hair looked and felt great! I am starting over again of no straightening with a flat iron but I will be back every few months for a blow dry and trim!

Rewriting since they requested it be taken down! I don't write reviews but sometimes, especially for a small business who doesn't value its very customers that keep them in business, it's necessary.
Take your money to a business that appreciates their customers! I've been a reoccurring customer for 5 years and have spent thousands of dollars here.

My experience here was wonderful. My mother, son, and daughter got their hair done, and I "loved" everyone's hair. The prices were high, but I was looking for a quality stylist, so I paid. I assumed I was going to be in the salon all day, nope, we were finished in about 3 hours! The shop ran like a well-oiled machine.

This place is sooo good yall!! i decided to get a silk press for homecoming, and it definitely met my expectations. all staff members are friendly, as soon as i arrived a lady started washing my hair (she went straight to it, love that!!). everytime she massaged a product in my scalp, i felt like i was gonna sleep lol. after my hair was fully dry, i was brought to the lady who would be doing my silk press. she was amazing: my hair turned out to be super smooth and silky, lightweight and bouncy (since i added curls). she seemed to really know about hair, she explained that since i had dyed hair

First visit and it was a pleasure to see so many sisters working and know what they are doing. The young woman who washed my hair put a hurting on it and it felt good. I was a little stressed when I got there but the shampoo job helped with the stress. The stylist Clara is a sweetheart she treated so good and I appreciate it. I will be going back.

Studio Chique was highly recommended to me from a friend. Being new to the area, trusting my friend, and seeing how her hair always looks so amazing I gave it a try with no hesitation. Booking was very easy and convenient on their website. For my very first appointment I got the silk press and color treatment. Clara did an absolutely amazing job on my hair. She was very informative and welcoming and most importantly my hair was flawless for a wedding I was attending. I am very big on not being in the shop for hours I was in and out in about 90 minutes. So this happened yesterday.
I came in for a 60 min. Swedish Massage with Marsha. She was amazing! Attentive, a great listener and communicator, working out tough tension spots in a way I didn’t even know was possible! My massage was amazing. Great pressure, great technique, hot towels and some kind of scrub that made me feel like I was on a beach walking in the sand. I didn’t realize how tight my body was until the session was over. I felt so much relief afterwards. I would recommend anyone to give it a try. I wish I could come every week.
The facility is clean, beautifully decorated, relaxing

Studio Chique is undoubtedly one of the best hair salons in DC, and they offer many other beauty-related services too (eg. waxing, massages, facials, body toning, hair loss solutions, etc.). I had the worst experience at Studio Chique. The stylist completely ruined my full and years grown long natural hair by overprocessing it and then cutting it all off without my approval. The owner Ngina is a nightmare as she takes NO ACCOUNTABILITY and gas lights by making a million ridiculous excuses for the result and actions of her stylists and will try to convince you to believe the damage is your fault, science, comparison, etc. Even worse, this lady examined my hair and told me it was NOT damaged when it was DESTROYED and made the statement that she did not see what my hair was like before

Response to owner: I checked. It was the right location and thanks but no thanks. I've had your services already. You had a good stylist, but she overcharged me for a conditioner. I tried again because I was in the neighborhood and I had to wait when I was the only customer there, the stylist had a bad attitude and did not do my hair right after trying to force a fine tooth comb on my thick hair. I had a 7am appointment and was immediately seated for service upon arrival. I was a bit apprehensive about getting a silk press and expressed that with the owner Ngina Thomas. She was very receptive and understanding and reassured me that she reassessed and addressed the issue. And that she made some improvements to ensure the safety and outcomes of black hair; as it pertains to curl revert.
This was comforting. I left pleasantly pleased with my hair and the overall experience.

I have been coming here for 10 years and I love everything about the Gift of Chique. I started coming when I wanted to transition from relaxers and cut some hair little by little. It took me about 3 years to fully transition and now I love my healthy hair. I am able to do versatile styles and I appreciate the deep conditioning process using the steamer. My hair always feel loved when I come here...and my color is always on point

This was my first time visiting this salon. They are very popular on IG and I had two friends visit in the past week so I gave them a shot. I saw Clara who was very nice. I appreciated her detangling my hair carefully while in the bowl and during my conditioning treatment. I also hadn't had my ends clipped in God knows when so she took care of me while still maintaining my length. She recommended a biotin regimen a client of hers uses that she saw results from.

Purchased a Studio Chique Groupon for my wife. We attempted to use it in March before it expired but couldn't because of COVID restrictions. We then agreed with Studio Chique that they could redeem before it expired, they would make a note in the system, and that my wife would be able to enjoy her experience at a later time once restrictions were… lessened. When we attempted to reschedule, the text from 202/722-2770 indicated that too much time had passed despite the fact we were never given any sort of additional expiration. I feel this is a bait and switch and a dishonest business practice

Today is my birthday. I never go to the salon to get my hair done but I thought I should treat myself this once. I had an appointment for a silk press at 10am. First of all, I had to wait over 30 minutes before I was sat in the washing chair. Then, as soon as I sit down in the chair one of the stylists YELLING across the shop basically complaining about how much hair I have and how it's going to take a long time to do my hair. Granted, I do have mid-back length natural hair, but it was the most unprofessional thing ever to have to wait over 30minutes and then as soon as I sit down all I hear

My last visit to Studio Chique Salon was a complete nightmare. I have been to this salon before and received awesome service from Ngina (the owner) which is why I am surprised that my visit on March 16th was… terrible. I had a closure wig unit constructed by a wig specialist in Atlanta (my home state where people can actually do hair) and since I live in DC for school, I decided to take it to this salon for a press and style(I shampoo the unit myself). The first time was great. However, the second time I decided to have this service done, the lace on the closure was torn. No one could figure
