Dr. Brian S. Margolis is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He has practiced dentistry since 1988 and specialized in periodontics since 1991. He received his dental degree with honors and his periodontal degree from New York University College of Dentistry. Upon graduation he was inducted into the elite dental honor society Omicron Kappa Upsilon and received distinctive awards in periodontics and geriatric dentistry.

The word "periodontal" means "around the tooth." Periodontal disease (also known as gum disease, pyorrhea or periodontal infection) is an ongoing bacterial infection in the gums and bone around your teeth. This infection leads to an inflammation under the gums, and if not treated, this inflammation can destroy the bone around your teeth.
Our goal is to provide you with excellent care in a comfortable and relaxed environment. Toward that end, we use the most current periodontal procedures, instruments, medications, and sterilization techniques. Every procedure is done with your comfort and safety in mind. We work closely with your general dentist to ensure you get the best possible care.

Finally, relief! I only wish I had met Dr. Margolis 18 months earlier but so incredibly grateful I finally became his patient. He was the 7th periodontist I had met and the only one who listened patiently to my story, carefully examined my implant, and gave me a home care regimen that would keep my unfortunate situation manageable. I cannot recommend this periodontist more enthusiastically. His care, concern, and expertise are beyond compare. The office staff are all incredibly kind and helpful as well. I went to Dr. Margolis with a long history of tooth grinding and clenching causing me to break several crowns on posts at the gumline. As a result, these teeth needed to be extracted (my two front and one adjacent). Dr. Margolis carefully walked me thru all treatment options explaining the potential issues and outcomes of each and answering all of my questions. The end result was a strategy that would ensure the strongest implants and long-term success. I would highly recommend Doctor Margolis and his team ,The Periodontal Associates of Long Island. I have been going to the office for over 10 years. My experience has always been great. Doctor Margolis is a very gentle, kind man who listens to your every word. He takes time with you and explains everything. I recently had to have a tooth extracted and was very nervous. He calmed me and did a unbelievable job. I have no pain and felt great leaving the office. Also the cleanings are the best, I have never had a cleaning as good as there’s. I brought my wife to see Dr. Margolis for major work on her teeth. Since day one it's been an excellent experience with him and his office. I was impressed, by the care and concern dr. Margolis exhibits, he mentored me about better oral hygene, as I have always taken good care of my teeth, or thought so anyway. This week’s periodontal procedure was as pleasurable as all of my previous cleanings.
As usual Jeannie my favorite hygienist was excellent and made me feel so comfortable, that I almost fell asleep while in the chair
Dr Margolis’s office is the classic example of how a health professional’s office should be during regular times, or even during a pandemic
It would not be possible to feel any safer than I felt during my last appointment

On a reference from my husband, after being in pain for weeks, I went to see Dr. Margolis. It turned out that I needed a tooth extracted, I was very nervous but Dr Margolis and his staff were very compassionate and accommodating .
Dr Margolis made me feel very comfortable and relaxed, exhibiting amazing skills on removing my tooth with no pain during or after the procedure, he explained before he did anything and was extremely professional by making sure the job was done rite and that I was ok.

Dr. Margolis provides excellent care. I've been going there for a good 10 years and he has done amazing work with improving the health and condition of my gums. He works with you and tells you what the best course of action would be to bring your gums back to a state of good health. I would (and have) recommended him to friends and family.

My dentist, who is the best, referred me to Dr. Margolis for periodontal work. He did a thorough exam and I ended up having to have surgery to correct my problems which was surprising not a big deal--very little pain, fast recovery. It all went very well, and I'm on a maintenance program now. I know I"m in good hands. Dr. Margolis is very personable, precise, extremely knowledgable and answers all of your questions, does not brush you off because he is super busy, always gives you plenty of time in your allotted appointment --ie, he has an excellent 'bedside manner'. The hygienists are excellent
