Yolanda Sanchez founded Round Rock Ballet Folklorico in 1988, to offer everyone an opportunity to learn and grow through dance. She has been an educator for over 35 years and an instrumental influence in developing cultural programs throughout the city. By believing strongly in what she does, Yolanda has been able to provide many dancers the ability to give back to their community and express themselves through dance.
Over the past twenty years, there has been a tremendous growth in the Round Rock Ballet Folklorico group with more participants registering every year. To date, over one hundred dancers have been coming to classes, and Yolanda teaches more than just the steps to the dance. Each student who participates walks away with a different perspective about Mexican Heritage and the different cultures that have influenced Mexico for generations.
